Qubool Hai: Story So Far UPDATED June 20th!

Zoya is a modern girl from New York, who has come to India with her Aapi (Zeenat) and Jiju (Anwar) to achieve her goal. There, her Nikah is fixed with Akram however on the wedding day she tells them that she doesn't agree to the marriage. Zoya runs away as she can't get married to someone who is not right for her.

On the other hand, a groom's family is coming to see Nikhat however she is scared because she's insecure of her dark complexion. However, Nuzrat (her sister) and Humera (her father calls Nikhat's mum as a 'sister' but they're not really related) calm her down. Whilst Nikhat is stressed about what to wear, Ayaan (her brother) enters gifting her a dress to wear. Ayaan is seen as a flirt, and he tries to impress Humera but she doesn't give him any attention.

Asad (Ayaan's older half brother) is introduced in which he meets Ayaan near a dargah. Although they share the same father (Rashid), Asad's mother is Dilshad and Shireen in Ayaan's mother and Rashid's second wife. Shireen fell for Rashid, so he left Dilshad for Shireen and the luxuries that came with it. Dilshad and Rashid separated 17 years ago and both brothers live in separate houses. Whilst Ayaan is a flirt, Asad is the opposite: he is traditional and quite conservative.

Whilst praying in the dargah, Asad sees Zoya crying opposite him and he can't keep his eyes off her. Ayaan comes and notices Zoya and he too becomes lost looking at her. Zoya gets up and leaves whilst Asad is praying but Ayaan follows her. Some men are looking for Zoya but she hides whilst Ayaan tries to find her, leaving Asad behind. Asad whilst driving accidently bumps into Zoya and she falls. He realises that she's the same girl, and asks her if she's alright but she answers back saying that she was better in New York as at least the men don't stare at her. He tells her that girls should look down and dress appropriately. They get into a mini argument where Zoya questions him why there are so many restrictions upon women, and fends him off with her pepper spray.

Meanwhile, the men (that were looking for Zoya) find Ayaan who is holding her dupatta which she had left behind and attack him. Asad comes and fights them up but gets stabbed in the back. He is rushed to the hospital where he meets Rashid for the first time in years. He clearly shows his anger towards his father and walks out with his mother, Dilshad. Rashid, upset goes back home where Razia (Humera's mother) talks about Nikhat's skin colour and how girls of dark complexions get refused. Also, Taya Abbu (Humera's father/Shireen's 'brother') insults Rashid and Ayaan telling him why he keeps contact with Asad? But Ayaan makes up some excuse that he just met Asad there. Razia tells Humera's father that Ayaan is a prospective match for Humera.

Zoya comes back home where her sister Zeenat is angry and upset with her for leaving home but Zoya manages her. Razia tries to instigate Shireen against Dilshad, as she doesn't want Rashid to have relations with Dilshad, Asad or Najma (Asad's younger sister).

Ayaan, upset tells Rashid why he isn't facing responsibilities for Asad. He tells Rashid that if he cares for Asad then why doesn't he say anything? Rashid agrees to meet Dilshad, Asad and Najma. Asad doesn't agree to meet Rashid but only does on Dilshad's persistence and he doesn't want to disobey his mother. Najma asks Asad for permission to go to a lounge opening in the late evening. He agrees until she mentions wearing western clothes to which he denies as why should she change the way she looks for other people?

Zoya sees people putting labels on bottles of tap water and sending it off as mineral water. She tells them that she'll report them but they circle her, to get them off she points to Ayaan telling them that she is with him. Not knowing the truth, the men run to Ayaan and start hitting him.

Shireen gives Rashid permission to meet Dilshad and even makes halwa for Asad but Razia doesn't like this. Zoya is roaming the city where she falls after again being hit by Asad's car. They again have an argument and she tries to attack him with the pepper spray but accidently sprays into her own eyes. On the other hand, Rashid is about to go to Dilshad's house when Imran and his family come to meet Nikhat (for her marriage). Dilshad waits for Rashid but he never comes. Asad, angry tells her that he will never acknowledge Rashid as his father. Ayaan hears this and runs off with Asad following. They have a cute moment where Ayaan questions why they can't have a normal relationship like other brothers do. After much deliberation, Nikhat's marriage is finally fixed with Imran and the family are happy. Gifts from the groom's side come and Nikhat is gifted fair and lovely cream to which she gets upset. Ayaan gets angry but Shireen tells him off because they are the girls side.

Zeenat and Anwar want to go back to New York but Zoya doesn't want to as she wants to find out her past. As she can't live alone, Anwar calls up Dilshad and asks whether Zoya can stay at hers. Dilshad agrees. Zoya is in the mall where again she meets Asad and they argue where she boasts saying she's staying with influential people and their elite houses (not knowing that its Asad's house). Zoya arrives and Dilshad and Najma greet her in. After a tour of the house, Zoya accidently mistakes Asad's room for hers and eats Pizza and coke there, messing the room. Asad comes and notices that some things are out of place (he likes things to be perfectly clean!) and fixes it. He is sleeping on the bed where Zoya in her sleep puts his arm over him and he becomes alarmed. He pushes her off to see that it's Zoya! They have an argument but is stopped by Dilshad and Najma. Asad tells his mother that Zoya is the same girl that he kept on meeting and that she is a rude and obnoxious person.

Both of them have their arguments with Zoya noticing Asad's obsessive cleanliness. He is irritated with her as she is loud but he tries to be nice to her for Dilshad's sake to the point where he asks her if she needs a ride. But Zoya dismisses him which makes him annoyed. Ayaan and Zoya come face to face when she throws a can of coke at him for littering the streets. He remembers that she's the same girl that ended in him getting beaten up and Asad getting hospitalised but Zoya doesn't know that. Asad finds out about Akram's fiance (Zoya) running away from the wedding and says that the girl is ill mannered for humiliating the family (he doesn't know that its Zoya). When Zoya reaches home late, Asad rebukes her saying that it's his home and she should abide by their rules to which Zoya replies that it seems like a hostel than a home.

Zoya has nightmares of a house being burned, she wakes up as Dilshad, Najma and Asad enter her room. Dilshad notices the burn mark on Zoya's arm and asks her about it but Zoya says that its just an old wound. Asad is worried that Zoya might influence Najma and wants her to leave as soon as possible. Zoya tries to find out the place in a photo but the photo is burnt, it's hard to see. Razia tells Shireen that it's better if Imran's family doesn't find out about Rashid's other wife and kids.

Ayaan is given the responsibility to get gifts for Imran's family but as he wasn't able to, Asad helps him out by buying the gifts. Hasina (Imran's mom, I think) sees the price tag on a gift and accuses Razia of insulting them. Ayaan manages to salvage the situation by saying that it was his mistake (but he wasn't really sorry). Zoya wonders about her abbu and whether she will find him or not. Ayaan rants to Asad about Imran's family but Asad tells him that for Nikhat's sake he will have to calm down as it's Nikhat's choice. Zoya is asking people about the place in the burnt picture but no one can recognise it. She meets Najma in her college where she sees boys teasing her. Zoya helps her by embarrassing them and throwing ink on their faces. Back home, Asad is concerned with the boys that tried to misbehave with Najma whilst Zoya tells him not to undermine girls. Zoya makes cake for Dilshad after she notices that the latter has been upset. Dilshad hugs Zoya and they have their moment, seen by Asad. Zoya tries to find her chocolate sauce which has gone missing. It's found when Asad accidently dips his hand into a bowl, after Zoya and him have a mini argument about how he feels about her appearance, her personality etc.

Hasina wants to exchange a suit that was gifted and finds out that Asad has gifted it. She decides to find out who Asad is and what significance he has with Nikhat and family. Nikhat and Nuzrat find out that Asad was the one that gifted them, to which they get emotional. They say that they can't even talk about Asad's good nature. Ayaan tells them that they're a group of five siblings, and that there are two away from them but will always be in their hearts. Rashid sees them and his happy for the love that they share. Zoya enters Asad's bathroom as Najma has occupied the other, she thinks that Asad has gone to work but finds him in the bathtub! They have an awkward moment where Asad is embarrassed. Zoya can't help but laugh at the moment to which Najma and Dilshad are oblivious to. Dilshad receives a watch as a gift and concludes that Rashid must have sent it. She gets very emotional whilst Ayaan hopes that Rashid meets Asad soon.

Dilshad calls Rashid and tells him that she'll give the watch back as they have vowed not to be together. Meanwhile, Zoya is arrested whilst teaching some eve teasers a lesson and accidently breaking the window. Asad comes and bails Zoya, apologising to the principle for her mistake. Zoya still argues that it wasn't her fault. At home, Asad tells Dilshad that Zoya is an illmannered girl and he doesn't want her to influence Najma. Zoya gets upset and leaves. Rashid sees Zoya crying and they talk about each other's problems without going into detail. Najma cuts her hair short after getting stuck with chewing gum, she desperately tells Zoya to help her before Asad finds out. Zoya helps her by putting a wig on her hair, making it longer. Ayaan wants to meet Zoya after people in college talk about her at the college fest. Meanwhile, Zoya and Najma are trying to stop Asad finding out about her hair. When he nearly finds out, Zoya steps on his tea making him break his phone.

Rashid and Zoya again meet and he tells her how he met Dilshad at college. Zoya remembers about the college fest and leaves. Zoya is not allowed to enter the college and so she wears a burka whilst Ayaan to does the same as the security guard doesn't let him in. They meet each other and argue but Ayaan leaves after Zoya threatens to expose him (Ayaan doesn't know that she is Zoya). Humera is scared about taking part in the fashion show but Zoya gives her assurance. Ayaan is stunned to see Humera. Meanwhile, Imran's family ask for a car. Rashid is concerned about how they will pay for it. Asad tries to use his phone but Zoya put a password in it which he can't use it unless he says "I am sorry Zoya". Ayaan wants to meet Zoya and Humera pretends she knows her. He tells her he'll drive her to college for a month if she gives him the number, Humera agrees. Haseena goes to Dilshad's house and finds out about Asad. She leaves.

Asad tells Zoya to fix his phone, he gets angry that he breaks it. Zoya send him his phone saying she has fixed it. She talks about love with Dilshad and checks Asad's horoscope. She tells him he'll fall in love one day whilst he says that he never wants to. Ayaan finds out that Humera was lying about knowing Zoya and is angry with her. Asad finds out about Najma's hair and is angry at Zoya for making Najma lie. Humera doesn't come home so Ayaan finds her by the swings. They talk and make up when she faints. Zoya too is outside under the sky (meteor shower) and Asad goes to get her home. They argue with Zoya telling him that may he fall in someone who is modern whilst he tells her may she fall in love with someone who teaches her manners. She accidently falls and he holds her whilst the meteor shower is in the background.
