Mariyam was feeling hungry so she asked Zoya to get something for her. The clock had already struck ten and everybody was done with their dinner. Phuphi was whacked after the days chores so she went to her room to listen to few old songs and relax on her bed. Najma had her exams the coming week so she was busy studying in her room. Asad had an important meeting and was going to have his dinner outside with his clients and would reach home late.
Zoya felt relaxed in Asad's absence and told Mariyam to accompany her to the kitchen. Little did she know that the lion was back to his den and would not hesitate to pounce on her if he found an unwanted animal entering his territory.
On one side, Zoya and Mariyam proceeded towards the dining hall when on other side, Asad asked Ayaan not to climb the wall like he did every time, instead, return home from the main door like a gentleman rather than like a thief.
Zoya hid Mariyam behind her to be on a safe side and reached the dining table. Just then she saw Asad sneaking out of his room. She was taken aback upon seeing Asad in the house. He told he would be late then why did he come so early? Then again ten is not early as well. She quickly concealed Mariyam under the table and called out to Asad.
"Mr. Khan..!!??"
He almost missed his breath when he heard her voice. He thought she caught him with Ayaan. He walked towards her shielding Ayaan behind him. Upon reaching the dining table he asked her why she called him.
"You are home. Do you need something?" she asked trying to smile and act normal. She constantly kept looking at the floor.
"Huh… uuhh… no… nothing. I … I just came to have a glass of water." He tried to reason and questioned back, "What are you doing here?"
In the meantime, Ayaan too hid under the table taking advantage of their conversation.
"Me?? Mari…Uhh.. I too came here to have water." She covered up didn't know what to say. She was about to disclose Mariyam's presence.
"Oh!! Here you go." He offered her a glass of water. They both drank it and Asad signaled Ayaan to leave from here as he will go back to his room.
Having drank water, Asad left the place. When Asad was out of sight, Zoya caught a hand and started to walk towards her room. It was Ayaan's arm but due to the darkness of the night and not habitual to the touch of Mariyam's skin, she failed to recognize that it was Ayaan whom she was dragging to her room. Asad turned to see if Zoya left the place, only to learn that she was dragging his brother somewhere.
Ayaan tried to free himself but Zoya told him to escape the place as soon as possible. He was hell confused as to what was going on. Why was she taking him somewhere? Asad in order to distract Zoya, dropped a magazine to create noise. She turned to know what happened but could find nothing. For that fraction of second she unknowingly loosened her grip on Ayaan wrist and soon Asad paced in and faced her back.
Ayaan successfully freed himself and ran towards the kitchen window to escape. Once again Zoya held the arm and dragged him inside her room. She immediately locked the room from inside and turned to see Asad's confused and anxious face. She tried to scream in shock but Asad covered her mouth before her yelling could bring the whole house into her messy room. Soon he took his hands off of her mouth when he was satisfied that she won't scream any longer. He backed off creating enough distance between them.
She asked him what was he doing there. He could not take any more bantering, he was already infuriated by her crazy antics and finally yelled out.
"It is you who brought me here. It seems you are more interested on me. You always bump into my way. If you thought me as some stupid boyfriend of yours who would be equally crazy as you are, then you unfortunately are wrong. Oh now I get why you were behaving different the whole day. Your NRI boyfriend must have landed in this country and of course he would not have a place to live so the most generous lady in this world asked him to stay here thinking this is a dharamshala and you can anytime fool my innocent mother. You should be given the "Best Actress Award" for your acting. You can so easily fool around with people. But now your game is over Miss Farooqui. Please bring your boyfriend in front of me or else I'll not think twice before knocking him down."
In the whole three minutes of talk he did not let her speak a word. Whenever she tried to say something he would cut her off. Upon getting no response from her even after giving her sufficient time to speak up, he decided to check the whole house for some sign of that unknown person which would indicate his presence in his house.
She saw him going out of the room. In the process of stopping him from finding about Mariyam, she did not notice a wrapper of potato chips and lost her balance. She closed her eyes tightly in fear of falling flat on her face. Asad realized her trip and forwarded his arms to prevent her from falling. He caught hold of her for more time. She slowly opened her eyes only to find herself in Asad's arms. For that moment they forgot everything around them and also the fact that they had a fight few minutes ago. He helped her stand on her feet still holding her through her waist. She tried to move back only to be pulled more closer to him almost decreasing the distance between them to few millimeters. He held her tight not ready to leave her ever in his life.
The thought that she would leave him forever if he loosened his grip brought shivers down his spine. He lost all his senses when she was around him. He could not think anything but her. After the whole Mangalpur incident, he could not concentrate on anything.
He pulled her more close and surprised her with a kiss. At first, she tried to push him away but soon gave in when she found herself as a fragile body in front of his strong build. Their kiss grew passionate.
