i think if people have a problem with feticide and such, they should try fixing the economic and cultural realities that define people's lives in so many countries on earth. Consider China. What are parents supposed to do if they are allowed only one child and they believe that the male child will be better able to support them in their old age?there are a lot of other things folks do that's not cool but that's how it is. Like companies and big CEOs laying off ordinary folks who might not be able to make it without a job. It seems that someone wins and someone loses with many of the things we do.now coming back to feticide, if female population gets skewed a lot, wouldnt that create scarcity value where in years to come they would be the more desired of the two sexes. If men come dime a dozen, wouldnt that ultimately reduce their value? And wouldn't that set off a self-correcting cycle going forward?maybe i have these questions because i see independent life beginning when the umbilical cord is cut. Before that, it's only biology to me. (that explains my pro-choice stance. The feticide bit is something i am putting up as a counter point to prevailing views and might not reflect my true opinion)

The "scarcity value" would reverse if both men and women were treated as equal. But they are not, and given patriarchy, even if there were less women, their position in the world would not change in a way that gives women inherent advantages like men.
