We have spent a long time looking at Asad's feelings for Zoya but what are Zoya's feelings for Asad? As far as I can see, she doesn't even have any romantic attraction to him. I see a young girl trying to befriend Asad in the hopes she can at least not argue with him, but I see no romantic feelings.
She definitely sees him as this strong and powerful figure as seen by her disappointment in Asad telling her he would not be able to protect her yesterday. During the MS episode she was taken back by his act of kindness and comfort. There was definite bewilderment but there was no indication that she even liked him.
Zoya has no romantic feelings for Asad - even latent, dormant or buried deep down inside. If she does, I would really like to see the evidence for it. I do not see anything signs or indications. Thus if Asad does like her, he's well within his rights to be hesitant to say anything because the feelings might not be mutual and what's the point in sticking his neck out there if she's just going to be rude and rejecting?
I hope the writers do not fail us by showing Asad falling in love with Zoya and then her sudden reciprocation which to me would be meaningless. If anything, I would prefer to see a civil and kinder Asad that attracts Zoya to such a degree that she falls in love with him and does her best to attract his attention unbeknownst to her that he is already attracted to her. It would allow for a lot of amusing scenes with Zoya trying to get Asad's attention.
