This is my First attempt at writing any piece so please bear with me.
The story line is the same with same characterization, it's just about one evening when some revelations dawned on an open heart..
People came to this beautiful Dargah situated at the suburbs of Bhopal to cleanse their souls, talk their hearts out to Allah, share their grief's, sorrows n sometimes joys too, but some come there to be themselves, stand by themselves and lick their wounds and then love themselves. That is what Zoya was doing that fateful day, wearing that simple yet elegant white anarkali, standing on the pristine white marbled floor of the beautiful Dargah not knowing what a sight she made. The serenity of the surroundings, the peace and the quiet was the perfect backdrop for this almost angelic beauty. "Almost " because her tears made her more human.
After knowing what she had been through in Mangalpur, Zoya being herself, she had put a brave face in front of everyone keeping her fears at bay for her private time, where in solitude she could lick her wounds and heal her scarred heart. Never in her worst nightmares had she imagined what she had gone through. And she had had her share of nightmares. Since her childhood accident she frequently had these nightmares which left her scared to death, but this time her reality itself had taken her to the doors of Death and had it not been for Asad, she wouldn't have returned.
So standing there Zoya thanked Allah for giving her this second chance at 'life'. It's just that Zoya knew that there was a purpose for her life for nobody would be given three chances to live unless they had a purpose to fulfill. But at this very moment she felt lost, completely and utterly lost as if she was that untethered flying kite which had to reach some destination but not only had she lost control in fact there was no one to guide her. Though her Api n Jiju were always there for her, but this was her journey and somehow this time she had to figure out herself how she'll achieve what she was suppose to do.
The Qawwali singers at the Dargah were singing heart's renditions to sooth the soul but there standing in the midst of an increasing crowd, feeling all alone was Zoya. To her every note of their music reverberated her own inner voice which wanted her to remember Asad when he held her and kissed her on the forehead, His fear was almost palpable, the anguish she saw at that moment in his eyes had scorched her somewhere deep inside. It was the echo of her own name which Asad had taken that time which brought her back to life. And since then it was as if her soul was not hers anymore, it had left bound and was moving aimlessly or was it. She wanted to quite the commotion inside her; it was as if everything every chord in her life was in disarray.
And then came Asad, his mom had known something was definitely amiss with Zoya and from her past experiences she had known Zoya won't open up easily, it was as if Zoya was a crusader of joy, Allah's personal disciple to spread happiness in everyone's life around her. She never shared her sorrows with anyone and so Dilshad being a mother had understood the unsaid and knew the cause of Zoya's restlessness was something to do with her own son.
Once Asad entered the Dargah, his own heart wandered ditching him. It was as if his heart couldn't lie in this place of Ibaadat, he had to face his own demons and accept his truth. He knew whatever had transpired between him and Zoya was not just plain and simple concern, what he had witnessed in Mangalpur had shook him to his core, had brought certain truth's in front of him which in normal life he or his ego would never have let him witness let alone accept them. That First breath which Zoya had taken after coming back to life had washed away the drought inside Asad's heart. It was as if he had lost his most prized possession and luckily was given a second chance to value it.
And there she was standing midst a crowd looking so unique. Her beauty was ethereal. In conventional sense Zoya wasn't miss universe or miss world but the honesty in her big luminous eyes, her courage to stand up against all evil, which no other dared to, her will to not only listen to her heart but to adhere to it was what made her Beautiful and Special.
What surprised Asad was that one moment had changed not only his viewpoint towards her; it was as if his eyes could now see what was all along in front of him with this new urgency and depth. And by every passing moment he was falling hard for what he saw.
He now feared what he saw for he never wanted to lose it again and thus wanted to hold onto her, he knew Zoya was a free liberated soul and it would be nothing less than a crime to ground her, but for all the goodness he had ever done, he wanted to bargain this with Allah, for he wanted to keep Zoya safe with him. She was this innocent dove out against the ugly truths and crude people and he just had this strong urge to protect her and be by her side, protect her and guide her for her pure heart trusted anyone n everyone. For the first time he wanted to walk along side not just with someone but with Zoya, He wanted not be just her friend or partner, he wanted to be her companion. He wanted to be there for her not only in her good times but also her troubled times, to not just laugh with her but also wipe her tears away.
So he kneeled down where he was standing and bowed his head in Allah's Ibaadat and for the first time asked for something for himself, His Zoya's happiness and to be there for her always, to surround her with his arms and protect her heart from any kind of pain.
It was as if stars were waiting to align for their destiny together. For when Zoya came out of her trance like state from her own Ibaadat she felt herself grounded and felt in a long time that she belonged somewhere more so she felt she belonged to someone with someone . The tears that fell from her eyes washed her barren heart. For Zoya, love and smiles for others had come readily but for the first time she felt a smile form from deep within and it blossomed within her enlightening her. She felt awareness of love for someone and she knew she was 'in love" with someone. Her own savior, the holder of her thread and she felt safe in this knowledge. And then she saw him.
Somewhere far off there was a thunderstorm or was it in their own hearts, for when Zoya and Asad opened their eyes to each other, it was as if their hearts had opened to them as well. And all of a sudden their inner commotion was soothed and they could hear each other without words. Their eyes said to each other what their words couldn't. Their love had taken birth and just like a pure innocent new born their love didn't need words, their need for each other reflected in their eyes. Their Ibaadat for each other was paid off in each other's eyes they found the answers to their prayers.
