Just came across Nautan and Balraj Sahini's classic movie "SEEMA" on youtube, and it as a heart touching beautiful classic to say the least.
A real treet to watch for REAL hindi cinema lovers... don't miss it.

Wow! Great to find lover of old movies and songs! đ
I've seen most of these films and that too several times except the Apu trilogy.
All movies called great nowadays are not even fit to hold a candle to classic cinema of yore.
Music, lyrics, acting, singing, story, dialogues, cinematography, screenplay...just about everything used to be top notch.
Nutan is what acting and natural beauty is all about unlike over-celebrated actresses of today's times.
There's never been a more natural and understated actor as Balraj Sahni ever again in Hindi cinema.
What I like about classic cinema is the conviction and heart with which these films are made. These films were not made with eye at any award, film festival or box office or any specific section of audience. These films were made because the maker wanted to make them! This feeling is missing in cinema since late 70s and moreso post 2000.
Films are business now. They are no longer an art, a creative calling...Dhanda hai isi liye ab ganda bhi hai.
Tanya, is there any classic cinema forum where one can discuss these films at length? I only know about Memsaab's blog and Upperstall. Wish there was some place to discuss themes explored in classic cinema.
