Chapter 6

BOOM...

The ETF team ran towards the blast.

All of them heaved a sigh of relief as they saw that the blast had been in the store room that was detached from the main school building.

'Agli bar bomb sahi jagah par blast hoga Rathore', the terrorist's voice echoed out of Rathore's phone. 'tumhare pass sirf dhai(2 and a half) ghante bache hai. Jaldi karo Rathore, warna bacche...', and the line went dead.

'DAMN IT!', Rathore roared in frustration. The kids were in danger and they were helpless.

'Maine number ke details pata karne ki koshish ki sir..', Shree tried to say.

'Koi fayda nahi Shree, wo itna bevkoof nahi hoga, multiple numbers use kar raha hoga.', Arjun said sharply. 'Aur waise bhi iss waqt humare liye uski identity se jyada, bacchon ki safety important hai'.

'Rawte sahi keh raha hai, main Altaf ko release karne ke orders de raha hu. Jab tak wo yaha transfer hoga, tab tak hume bacchon ko safely bahar nikalna hoga', Rathore said and walked away to make the necessary calls.

'Chotu, iss building ke engineer ko bhi sath lekar aao. Jaldi.', Arjun ordered Chotu on the phone.

'Shree, security system hack hua?', Arjun asked.

'Koshish kar raha hu sir, kuch hi minutes me ho jayega', Shree answered immersed in the his laptop.

'Jaldi karo Shree humare pass waqt kam hai', Arjun said sternly, but worry was evident in his voice.

Riya hadn't spoken a word since she heard the blast. She was hell worried for Aaliya now. If something happens to her she wouldn't be able to handle it. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath to calm herself down. She opened them, turned towards the team and found Arjun with his eyes closed. He was standing with his arms crossed across his chest, eyes closed in concentration as he thought something. She noticed his tensed forehead and knew that he was also worried for Aaliya and all the kids.

'Akram', Arjun announced opening his eyes in realization.

'Sir..?', Riya asked confused.

'Akram khan. Iss pure plan ke aur iss call ke piche Akram khan hai', Arjun said.

'Aapka matlab Altaf ka bhai? Wohi jo humare hath se bachkar bhagne me kamyab raha tha?? ', Shree asked him.

'Ha wohi. Aur Altaf ke pakde jane ke baad ek wohi hai jo iss gang ko lead kar sakta tha. Tumne notice kiya Shree ki wo Rathore se kis tarah baat kar raha tha?', Arjun asked.

'Ha Sir, as if Rathore sir se uski koi personal dushmani ho?', Riya said.

'Dushmani toh uski puri ETF se hai Riya, uske bhai ko jo giraftar kiya tha. Par Rathore se isliye, kyunki..', Arjun said.

'Kyunki jab wo bhag raha tha toh Rathore sir ne uspar goli chalayi thi, aur bhale hi wo bhagne me kamyab raha ho, uss goli se uska left hand permanently damage ho gaya hoga, right sir?', Shree asked.

'Right Shree', Arjun said.

'Toh iska matlab wo yeh sab badla lene ke liye aur apne bhai ko chudane ke liye kar raha hai?', Riya asked.

'Ha. Aur iska ek aur matlab hai, wo Rathore ko nuksan pohochane ki koshish jaroor karega', Arjun said balling his fist in anger. No, he won't let anything happen to anyone. Not to the kids and not to his friend as well.

'Sir, yeh raha iss building ka plan', Chotu came and handed Arjun the plan. 'Aur yeh hai iss building ke engineer Mr. Tripathi', Chotu said indicating towards the man beside him.

Arjun took the plan of the building from him and started scanning it.

'Mr. Tripathi, iss building se bahar nikalne ka koi aisa rasta hai jo jyada use na hota ho?', Arjun asked the engineer.

'Ha, yaha ke do fire exits hai, generally kabhi use nahi hote', he answered.

'Fire exits nahi Mr. Tripathi, wo toh sabki nazar mein aate honge. Koi aisa rasta jiske baare me kisiko jyada pata na ho?', Arjun asked.

Mr. Tripathi also started scanning the plan with Arjun.

'Ha', he said suddenly. 'Yeh rasta', he answered pointing it to Arjun on the plan. 'Humne canteen kitchen ke basement me ek emergency exit banaya tha, taki agar kabhi aag lage ya koi emergency ho, to workers waha se jaldi nikal sake. Aur yeh rasta toh jyada logo ko pata bhi nahi hai, kyunki yeh basement se seedhe school ke piche water tank ke pass khulta hai', Mr. Tripathi said looking a little happy as he could help in some way.

'Good. Thank you for your help Mr. Tripathi', Arjun said and he left. 'Ab hume iss raste se andar jana hoga aur bacchon ko bahar nikalna hoga'. Just then Rathore walked back to them.

'Maine Altaf ko release karne ke orders de diye hai. He will be brought here after all the procedures. Tumne kuch socha Rawte?', Rathore asked.

'Ha, hume andar jane ka rasta mil gaya Rathore', Arjun replied and explained everything to Rathore.

'Par sir agar hum andar chale bhi jaye, toh bhi hum nahi jante ki andar kitne log hai. Aur humara ek galat move, bacchon ki jaan khatre me dal sakta hai sir', Riya said. Though she didn't show it, Arjun knew she was terrified for Aaliya.

'You are right Riya', Rathore said 'par..'

'Shree, tumhe system hack karne me aur kitna time lagega?', Arjun asked cutting Rathore off.

'Bas 15 minute aur Sir', Shree answered confidently.

'Good. Jab tak Shree system hack karta hai tab tak hume andar jana hoga. Aur uske baad Shree hume unki locations bata dega. Itna risk toh hume lena hi hoga, humare pass waqt bohot kam hai', Arjun said. 'Aur jaise Mr. Tripathi ne kaha yeh rasta bohot kam log jante hai.'

'Thik hai. Rawte tum, main aur Chotu pehle andar chalte hai, Riya aur Shree baad me aa jayenge', Rathore ordered.

'Nahi Rathore, tum nahi. Akram har bar tumhe call karta hai, aur agar use bhanak bhi lagi ki tum building me ho, toh bacchon ki jaan ko khatra ho sakta hai.', Arjun said instantly. 'And we need back up Rathore. Main pehle building me jata hu tum sab back up ke sath aa jana'.

'Nahi Rawte, main tumhe akele nahi bhej sakta', Rathore said.

'Main jaungi Arjun Sir ke sath', Riya said immediately with a determined tone.

'Nahi Riya tum...', Arjun tried to say.

'Please Sir', Riya spoke looking directly at Arjun. There was a determination in her eyes and Arjun knew she won't listen. Arjun wanted to stop her from going with him, knowing very well that danger lay ahead in the mission and he didn't want her to get hurt in any way. She was very precious to him, now that she was back and with him after so long. But he knew he won't be able to stop her today, even if he tried to. Her daughter was inside and he knew she will do anything she can to save her.

'Fine', he nodded.

Arjun and Riya got ready to enter the building. Meanwhile Rathore called for back up which would be arriving soon.

Akram called once again to know the status of Altaf and Rathore assured him that his release orders had been given and he was being transported here soon.

'Shree jaise hi system tumhare control me ho, inform me. Aur Akram ki exact location batana', Arjun ordered.

'Yes Sir', Shree answered.

Arjun and Riya reached to the door of basement. And as expected by Arjun, it was deserted. No one seemed to be there. They entered the basement cautiously. And as soon as they entered, they saw two people with guns standing at the foot of stairs that led to the kitchen. Before they could react Riya shot both of them without any noise because of the silencer attached to the gun. Arjun was impressed. He looked at Riya with admiration.

Now they had to wait for Shree to hack the security system. Because they had no idea about the number of people out there and they didn't want to gain their attention by attacking them. So they waited there and devised a further plan to rescue the students.

Arjun asked Shree about how much time will he need more, a bit angrily this time as his patience was wearing out. Shree said the work will be done in five minutes.

He glanced at Riya and found her leaned against the wall with her eyes closed and hands crossed across her chest. He slowly walked towards her and saw that a lone tear made its way out of her eye. His heart pierced in pain seeing her like that. He got close to her and kept a hand on her shoulder. Her eyes shot open and she looked at Arjun with teary eyes. He gazed at her assuringly trying to tell her that they won't let anything happen to Aaliya. She wiped her tears and went to sit on the stairs. Arjun followed and sat beside her.

'Parso Aaliya ka birthday hai', Riya said and Arjun looked at her. He saw the helplessness in her eyes.

'Arjun Sir, in panch saalon me Aaliya meri zindagi ka ek atoot hissa ban gayi hai. Di aur Jiju ke jane ke baad meri puri duniya Aaliya ke hi ass pass surround kar rahi hai.' Riya said plainly looking ahead. 'Uske sath haste haste koi bhi pal kaise guzar jata hai, pata bhi nahi chalta', she said with a slight smile. 'Wo meri zindagi ban gayi hai sir', she said and turned her face to look at Arjun.

'Uske bina toh main apni life soch bhi nahi sakti Sir.' Riya said tears flowing down her face now. 'Ag...agar usse kuch ho gaya...', but Arjun silenced her with his hand on her mouth.

'Sshhh...Kuch nahi hoga', Arjun spoke softly looking into her eyes. 'Hum kuch nahi hone denge'

She couldn't hold herself anymore now and crashed in Arjun's arms.

'Kuch nahi hoga na Sir?? Aa... Aaliya ko...? Kuch nahi hoga na??', She asked sobbing in his arms. He held her protectively in his embrace while she cried. He felt his shirt getting wet with her tears. His heart pained seeing her in that state. He also felt the same fear as Aaliya was very special to him. But he composed himself and was determined to save Aaliya and all the kids.

'Kuch nahi hoga Riya.', he said caressing her hairs. He then pulled a little back and cupped her face gently.

'Kuch nahi hoga Aaliya ko. Hum usse kuch hone nahi denge... MAIN usse kuch hone nahi dunga', Arjun said firmly looking into her eyes. She felt assured by his words. She slowly pulled away, wiped her tears and nodded determinedly.

That's it for today. I know it was a bit boring,🥱 drafted it in a hurry.
