| Interview : Ishaa Koppikar getting her due |
|
Excerpts from the Interview: Tell us something about your film Shabri. The film has Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol and me. It is a psychological thriller, and I'm playing Ashwini, a housewife married to Fardeen, who is traditional and very particular about right and wrong. Two schedules of the film has already been completed, one with Fardeen and myself and another with Fardeen and Esha. We'll soon begin shooting our scenes together. What is your take on the films that you're currently doing? I think I'm getting my due. I'm confidently making the most of the opportunities like Don and Shabri that came my way. Farhan Akhtar's Don is a modern day version and it gives me not only plenty of scope to perform, but also to stand in the clear without any shadows from the original. What do you have to say about your character in Don? Amitji's Don didn't have this character. I'm glad to get a new role that plays an important part in taking the story forward. Even if I was playing a character someone has already done in the original, I wouldn't let it affect me. I believe in being focused about my work and giving it my best shot, that is my commitment to the character. Do you have any action scene in Don?
Well other than practicing martial arts, in what other things your interest lies? I also spends time doing Kathak and following sports. I've been a former state-level basketball player. I want to get into another sport, maybe squash. I also spend a lot of my free time with my friends, and I have lots of them. Is there anyone special in your life? No, I'm very much single and ready to mingle but only with my work. |
