Chapter Three - The Morning

I made him chai and placed it on his bedside table. He had fallen asleep again after I had gotten out of bed.

I bent over to shake him awake.

"RK...wake up."

He moaned and stretched but got comfortable again.

"Five more minutes."

"RK your chai is getting cold...wake up."

I turned around when suddenly I felt a yank at my arm. I came face to face with RK.

"Good morning meri jaan."

He smirked as I smiled back at him.

"Oh...how filmy patidev."

I giggled and pulled away as RK continued to smile at me.

I went in front of the mirror to fix my hair.

"Wait Biwi! You're supposed to be resting. Why'd you make chai? I could've made it myself."

I turned to face RK as I continued to brush my hair.

"RK, I rested in the hospital for over a week. I'm tired of laying down! I want to do things!"

"Oh, you want to do things?"

RK smirked.

"RK...drink your chai."

"Yes ma'am."

RK smiled to himself.

I braided my hair and picked up the container of sindoor.

"Wait!"

I turned to see RK getting out of bed.

"What is it RK?"

He didn't answer; he walked towards me and gently grabbed the container of sindoor from my hands.

"If I may?"

I blushed and nodded my head as he opened the container of sindoor.

I looked into his eyes as his fingers got closer to my forehead.

I felt the sindoor touch my forehead and I instantly closed my eyes.

The feeling of him placing sindoor on me in love made me feel good on the inside. I smiled as I felt his hand caress the side of my face.

My eyes shot open as we heard a knock at our door.
