I am starting a new topic series called SUNDAY DHAMAKA for 2013. Every SUNDAY, we will have a major topic to discuss and debate on. In the first part of this firework series (😲 😆), we need to analyze something that surely all fans need to face the truth about sooner or later. We say the KHANS are verstaile and amazing, what not. But, why can't SALMAN, SRK, AAMIR do HISTORICAL films successfully?! 😕 SALMAN failed with VEER, SRK didn't attempt anything again after ASOKA, and AAMIR's MANGAL PANDEY is best left forgotten. Does that make them 100% perfect in all genres?! The only actor that has done well in a historical film is HRITHIK in JODHAA AKBAR. And he is a NON-KHAN. He even won the BEST ACTOR FILMFARE for it. So, explain it to me IF'ians. Why can't the KHANS do HISTORICAL FILMS with success? And we can argue to some extent SRK did well with Devdas or Aamir with Lagaan. Please make this DHAMAKA worth the masala and entertainment. I want to continue these SUNDAY DHAMAKA series topics for many more weeks to come!

WHY CANT KHANS DO PERIOD FILMS WITH SUCCESS?

is that even a question to ask gaurav? my cherry was not in them! simple.

period films would gain a new meaning/importance when we will see cherry in kjo's next period- i hear kat, ranbir, aish are there as supporting cast!

Because these actors have embedded an image in the minds of their fans, fans can relate to any action hero/lover protrayal, but it's hard to imagine them in the period roles. It's like they are taking part in a fancy costume party competition. It's hard to relate to their period characters.

KJO's PERIOD film is not confirmed yet, so let's see. And KOIZA K, explain this to me QUEEN of the NIGHT. 😆 Your CHERRY was in MANGAL PANDEY!!! Why was that just an AVERAGE/BELOW AVERAGE? Can you explain that to CHERRIYANS and myself PLEASE? 🤓

Then that means the KHANS are not 100% verstaile. They lack in PERIOD films. HRITHIK is the king of PERIOD ROMANCE then!

my cherry has already cleared that in mangal pandey she was not interested- also it looked unreal as she is sent to this world to wear diamonds and she was not wearing one in that movie- the cherriyans didn't like their cherry without diamonds hence it bombed!

Well SRK does have Josh which was not a failure. Not to mention Devdas.

Does Aamir's 1947: Earth count?

I don't remember Josh as a period film. And that was not a hit, just above average/semi-hit. Yes, my bad. Devdas is a period film! 😉 That does count. But, SRK didn't have a hit period film after that. 😆

1947: Earth was just an average and critically acclaimed. I don't remember that as a hit. 😲

Josh was set in 1980.

I know Earth wasn't a hit but it was critically acclaimed so Aamir has that at least.
