The Dabangg 2 superstar comes clean for the first time about his Tere Naam chacrater and how he feels men should behave

Salman Khan's role as the jilted lover Radhe in the 2003 mega-hit Tere Naam may have worked towards earning the superstar legions of fans across the nation. But now Salman himself is quite not-pleased with the role, he says, as he looks back

In a recent interaction on a TV show, Salman reflected on his past roles, and said that it was his character in Tere Naam that he was most scared of, because it was so negative . The superstar said that he had been afraid of playing Radhe, because the long-haired thwarted lover was a loser who didn't know how to move on with his life, and how to behave correctly with women. Salman also went on to say that men should not emulate Radhe, as the character didn't know any better. "When a girl says 'no', she means NO and guys should respect that. Radhe didn't know any better and I am scared of that role. I want guys to emulate his hairstyle, his looks, and his physique, but not his nature, because he is a loser who doesn't know how to move on."

Well, Salman sure has come of age, and in today's times, with crimes against women reaching new levels of depravity, the Tiger's opinion matters a great deal. After all, the superstar has millions of fans who follow his behaviour carefully and diligently. Good timing, Salman! We like the new, socially conscious side to you….a lot!

Salman harassing me, says Aishwarya

Though her family opposed the relationship, she stood by her man, only to be let down time and again by Salman, says Ash.

"After we broke up, he would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected me of having affairs with my co-stars. I was linked up with everyone, from Abhishekh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And I would go to work as if nothing had happened."

Ash says she took everything in her stride, sometimes even consoling him.

The break-up finally came when she heard of Salman cheating on her.

"He indirectly confessed to me one day," she says about the episode.

Ash also denies that she called Salman to the sets of Aziz Mirza's film in Naraingaon. It was other way around, she explains. Salman kept calling, but Ash refused to say where she was. But he overheard people near her mentioning the name of the place.

Witnesses say that an inebriated Salman reached there and insisted that Ash go with him. Though she refused first, she relented after he hit himself. Amid all this, Mirza ordered a pack-up. Ash was recently replaced by Rani Mukherjee in the film.

Reports that her career is being jeopardised by her personal life disturb Aishwarya. She clarifies she "opted out of Atul Agnihotri's (Salman's brother-in-law) Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahan for personal reasons."

"It's sad that I'm being projected as unprofessional and calculating. Filmmakers who have signed me know that the only healing factor in my life is my work. This is a male-dominated industry and I guess it has been difficult for many to digest a woman holding her own with dignity. Nevertheless, there's somebody up there who's with me," says Ash.

But the actress doesn't believe her career has hit a downturn. She'll soon star in Rituparno Ghosh's film based on Tagore's work. Then there are projects with Rajiv Menon, Yash Chopra, Raj Kumar Santoshi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sajeev Karnik. Moreover, an English film and a Spanish film are in the pipeline.

"Let others say what they want. But every person concerned knows the truth... God is the witness," declares Aishwarya.
