Divya, I am quite bewildered bu the impunity with which they act...all this national outrage has not fazed them at all...and that women were groped at the candle light vigil...I don't even know what to say!

These people know that nothing is going to happen to them hence the don't care , plus a lot of the elements who go along with the protesters are bad ones , it's each home that has to change , the police can catch only so many , every woman has to sensetize her son to respect woman sometimes I think we are our worst enemies , a woman who aborts her female fetus , to a mother in law who burns the bride for a dowry , or maltreats her bahu , also the regressive serials shown with MILs shouting and abusing and the son standing not saying anything , we need to change our mindset otherwise cres against women will always take place , or make the punishment so harsh that it puts the fear of god in men . Maybe if we keep these protests on we may get a more stringent law but remember it has to be implemented, educate each woman and teach her how to protect herself, maybe then society will change

True Dr Babs...all the laws in the world won't make a difference if there is no attitudinal change in society...and to begin with, men must need to learn to respect themselves and each other...and fathers should set an example to their sons on how to treat their mothers and sisters...if respect is inbred at home, hopefully it will translate to respect on the streets...and yes, it would sure help if channels gave up on regressive rubbish!

This has shocked me much more... even at the vigil... i mean.. the national outrage has not detered anybody. The cops... when so much is said about them and the steps they should take to protect women and if the protector himself becomes the scavenger, how does one deal with it?

With most offenders this wouldn't even be their first crime. They have gotten away with it before they are so sure in their skins that they can get away with it now...
