BO thing is lame now but it'd be be all and end all when Dhoom 3 releases this year! Right? 😆

It was all started by Shahrukh and Aamir themselves when SRK put those full page ads in all papers claiming OSO as the biggest hit ever and Aamir hyped Ghajini and cut those 100 crore digit shaped cakes at success parties.

Fans also went overboard, sites like BOI became top accessed sites and announcement of every film was accompanied by predictions of records. Nowadays we have live BO updates on Twitter, new BO sites mushrooming daily.

Ironically the two guys who started this madness are now worse victims of this cycle!

If you say so! 😆 Everybody knows what records mean to fans (especially 3I record to Aamir fans!). 😉

Dhoom 3, Krissh 3 types were signed precisely to aim at box office. (Does anyone think such films promise content/quality?)

We'll see threads 11 months from now about D3 box office.

For now, celebrate the fact that ETT fell just a few lakhs short of 3I and Dabangg 2 isn't coming close to 3I either. We can later boast "only Aamir can break his record"! 😆

LOL.. of course it is only Aamir fans who care about BO. And of course Salman signs movies with an eye only on content/ quality. Salman fans like yourself are totally oblivious to the BO earnings of their favorite star. Maybe that's why you made out the difference of 186 crore (ETT) and 202 crore (3I) to be a matter of just a few lakhs. 😆

I am not a Salman fan. Assumptions galore! 😆

I mentioned only Dhoom 3. You think such films have content? 😉

I didn't talk about Salman at all. Why you talk of his film choices to me?

Sorry about "few lakhs" thing in case of ETT.I wrote that based on those official numbers posted by Joginder Tuteja on Twitter. My bad!

My reply was mainly aimed at the "BO never matters" statement by other member.

True that...BO thing is started by the Stars themselves...so really cant blame the fans for exaagerating it . Fans really blindly follow their Favs. This is the case of Grapes being Sour...when ur fav is collecting good amount ..BO matters...if not QUALITY comes in Picture...:P

@bold : You cant put Aamir in that...Higgest Record still belong to himmm:) . Just like Srk's Repetative Acting could't carry furthr ...I doubt Salman's Action Hero will last long... . At the end the Better Choice matters...

@SingularlyGod : I guess ETT Collection is 199.3 ...

@shakti_rock

Exactly! Fans keep changing arguments.

Aamir is also in it because he also gets many expectations for box office. Talaash wasn't expected to break records but still there were more expectations from it yet it has not even crossed 100 crore. The judgements and comparisons keep happening. It's not just about highest grosser record, it's about being scrutinised and saddled with expectations. He, other Khans, Hrithik, Akshay Kumar - all get judged for BO numbers. It's like this star's film must cross a certain figure easily - even if nothing is actually known about it.
