| Recently, Amrita Arora bought herself a flat in Bandra's Almeida Park. She's busy renovating the spacious, four-bedroom, seventh floor apartment in Ayesha Apartments, and will shift in soon.
Says Amrita, "I've always wanted to invest in property in Bandra because I think this place rocks! Also, now I can be close to everybody, including Malaika and her family."
Amrita was earlier put up in Andheri.
All in the family
Work on the apartment's interior design has been going on at a hectic pace, but Amrita says that it's not going to be anything fancy. But she doesn't want to disclose details, as it's going to be a surprise for her family. Will it be vibrant and colourful, like her personality? "It's a mix of everything, with a predominance of the Mediterranean look and style," says Amrita.
Interior designer Ketan is handling the crucial aspects, with Amu chipping in with her likes and dislikes.
Apart from the new house, Amrita is a little hassled on the personal front. Before she flew off to Jaipur for a show last Saturday, she had to admit her long-time driver Pandey to Holy Spirit Hospital.
She says, "Since Thursday, Pandey had a severe headache and was running a very high temperature. On Friday afternoon, he took a turn for the worse when his temperature went up to 104 degrees. I had to leave my rehearsals and take Pandey to the hospital. He's been with us for eight years and is like family to us."
Character actor
Amrita's Rotterdam show with Adnan Sami, Koena Mitra, Celina Jaitly and Amisha Patel has been postponed till December. After the Jaipur show, she will return to start dubbing for Vikram Bhatt's Red.
"The film is complete and only dubbing work is left. My character is very interesting, but very dark. In Vikram's other film, Speed, my character is breezy and talks too much. That gets her into a lot of trouble."
Currently, Amrita is in talks with producer Kamal Sadanah for his production, Victoria 203 with Om Puri, Jimmy Sheirgill and Anupam Kher. The film will be directed by Anant Mahadevan. |
