As the generation leap took place characters in Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi made their priorities very clear. One of these characters was Sumeet Sachdev, aka Gautam Virani.

Gautam played a major character when the first leap was produced but when Hiten Tejwani entered the show, Karan became the next major character. "I'm not jealous that Karans character is better than mine, Hiten is a very good friend of mine I could never be jealous of his success." Says Sumeet. To the viewers Karan had stolen their hearts and Gautam was just another character. Ekta Kapoor explains "Sumeet is one of my best actors, and he had made it clear to me that his character was going nowhere and from his point of view it was better if he had left. But the problem was I wasn't ready to let Sumeet go and maybe never will, never the less I had known that if Sumeet left so would his on-screen wife Riva Bubber. I can't take that risk, since those two are the next best couple paired on screen after Hiten and Gauri. So for that reason Sumeet will have bigger parts in the serial through out the coming years."

Sumeet Sachdev can now be seen in Ekta Kapoors next hit serial Karam Apna Apna, and her yet to seen Karbon Kopy. Interestingly from the third generation Sumeet Sachdev and Hiten Tejwani were the leading men and still are but the real question is what is going on between Sumeet Sachdev and Riva Bubber?

i wonder what will happen when KARAN-NANDINI SON (i assume is a son) arrives, wht will happen to LAKSYA, or MANTHAN for that matter.

As for EKLAVYA he will hold his as always, just his ANSH CHARACTER.
