Almost all the urban movies these days are Delhi based. What do you think is the reason behind it? Do you think Bal T. gang is responsible for this shift?

India is a huge country and having all stories based out of Mumbai is boring. Exploring new places adds another dimension to the movie like it did for Kahaani, Vicky Donor. I personally welcome the change.

But there where only two movies based on WB & two on UP/Bihar this year. Others where all based on Delhi; even the li'l known movies like Chalo Driver. Most of the production houses prefer shooting in Delhi these days.

I dont know why people are shooting in Delhi more. I havent heard of trouble from Bal T and co. Infact filmi folks seem friendly with them and the police. They should face no issues. Maybe they just want add a new flavor of another big city. North India including Delhi afterall generates a lot of revenue. Adding local flavor pleases the audience of that area even more.

They can rename Bollywood to Dollywood. Or more accurately, Pollywood, since most movies seem to be based in Punjab nowadays.

It's just in "fashion" now like the South-inspired flicks. Once they get bored of it they will move somewhere else.
