I saw Mom watching Mere Sai on Shemaroo tv with Tushar Dalvi playing the older Sai Baba and I found this show interesting so started watching it from the beginning.
First of all Abeer Soofi as the younger Sai Baba was excellent. Tushar Dalvi is an experienced actor so obviously he would be good but Abeer impressed me a lot. It was not an easy role for him. In fact its the most difficult and challenging role yet he excelled in it. I wish he had gained more success and popularity with this show which he truly deserved.
The first 200 episodes of the show are beautiful. I loved all the tracks though I didn't agree with some of the gyaan they showed. Those were 'easier said than done' types and are not fully practical in today's world. My absolute favorites are the leprosy patient Ranoji, Suhasini track and Suvarna tracks. Suhasini track was the most sensitive track yet they showed it really well.
After the hindu muslim riot track the show kinda became typical itv show. Chihu's husband dying on vat savitri pooja day etc. How come Sai didn't get the inkling of the tensions that were going to happen between Hindus and Muslims? He really behaved like he never thought in his wildest dreams there are going to be Hindu-Muslim problems when he always had the idea of what's going to happen next like he knew chihu's husband's lifespan is short and he will sacrifice his life to save the poor farmers. How come he didn't know there would be riots in Shirdi? Secondly, I know its for the sake of drama but I never understood why Kulkarni and Anta Banta never got their bad karmo ka phal in the show. I felt like Sai was way too lenient with them. They even risked people's lives for the own selfish gains, exploited and harassed people but Sai baba barely did anything. Thirdly, I really felt sorry for Keshav. He had a tougher childhood than even Jhipri/Lakshmi. His father ruined his childhood. Those child abuse scenes were tough to watch. He manipulated him, spoiled him, made him arrogant and Sai did nothing to stop all that. Somewhere its his mother Rukmini's fault too that she let her husband abuse her son physically and mentally. These are the loopholes I found in the first 200 episodes though they were so so good to watch.
I am watching the post leap episodes currently and I am sure my doubts would be cleared in the next episodes.
Tagging you all as I see you all used to watch this show.
