~Part 4~

Will this stranger also betray me just like my fate betrayed me. Especially when I am in such a vulnerable condition all at his mercy? So many questions were nagging her mind when she felt his hand on removing the pallo of her saree.

Her thoughts were dragging her into the darkness. Where she was alone, lonely and betrayed but still she wanted to fight against her fate.

She wriggled to free herself from his grasp but he held her more tightly. Lightening flashed in the east and thunder rumbled a posthumous threat.

"Leave me," She uttered while struggling to get herself free.

"Shh," She heard him say.

"Drink some water," He placed bottle on her lips and made her drink some water. She was still unsure of his intentions as she gulped the water down her throat. He placed the bottle on the side table and she was expecting him to leave her now but to her dismay he slid her pallo further. Her breath got stuck in her throat as she tried to fight him again.

"You are all wet, you will catch cold. Let me dry you." His words brought a relief to her restless heart and he further slid her pallo as he started to dry her with the towel.

She opened her eyes lazily and their eyes met. Her innocent eyes were shimmering with pain. But now it had one more thing that accompanied pain it was accusation. Her eyes were complaining.

"You don't need to worry. I know my limits." His voice showed some emotions as he uttered those words.

Life is strange. Life is unpredictable. Sometimes you get deceived or disappointed by the people you trusted most in your life. And sometimes you are unable to trust anyone, and then a stranger is there to rebuild something new and beautiful from the ruins of that tattered trust.

He was trying to hide his pain. After drying her, he rose from the bed. There was some bond that was connecting them both since the time they had met. No matter how hard they were trying to escape, it was bringing them closer. Something was connecting them together. May be their fate or may be the pain that was common in both.

He took off his shirt and now he was only clad in black tank vest. He went towards the fireplace to light the fire.

He lit one match and his eyes went towards Khushi who was lying on the bed. Thunder growled a deep rumbling warning.

I am unable to forget the pain in her eyes since I met her. Her painful words in that diary are still lingering in my mind, the way she shed those tears helplessly one day back and the way she tried to hide them, are adding to my grief.

Fire caught his finger, giving him a slight burn. He sighed and his gaze strolled towards the window where rain was still falling at a steady rate.

I never thought that my life would take such a turn where pain will absorb me to such an extent that this fire would be soothing and the rain would seem to be way harsher than the fire.

Though touching fire is forbidden

Yet it sooth me from within

For water brings memory of a sin

That can never be overridden

He couldn't take it anymore, he made his way out and sat by the window, where rain drops fell on his face.

Khushi got up in the morning and found herself in that unknown place. Last night's events flashed in her mind. Her eyes went to Arnav, who was sitting on the couch and was awake.

I know what you are thinking. You will blame me for the thing I have not done. And I don't know how I would make you believe that nothing happened between us. He thought.

"Arnav," She got up from the bed and Arnav was ready to hear the worst accusation.

"I'" she paused and looked away.

"I am sorry and thank you," Her words shocked him.

"Sorry? Thank you?" He asked in disbelief.

"Yeah, sorry for causing you so much trouble and thank you for not taking advantage of me when you could have done worst with me."

He couldn't take her words anymore.

"I don't deserve these words," He told her

"You are wrong. You deserve much more than these simple words for what you did for me last night." She countered.

"Please, stop it. Tell me anything, but not these words." He panted.

"But I don't know any other words," She said.

"May be words are not needed," He looked at her and maybe he was right their silence and pain was sufficient and there was not any room for the words.

"Why is there so much pain in your eyes?" She asked him because this pain had been haunting her too.

"Because I deserve each bit of it, I never realized until now that even this pain is not a right punishment for me." With his answer, silence prevailed in the room for few minutes.

"Let's go. I will leave you." He said and she quietly followed him.

****

Khushi fished her purse for the apartment keys. She opened the door and was about to walk towards her room when she heard Payal giggling and then a male voice followed it.

She headed towards the kitchen and found Payal in Akash's embrace, while he was kissing her neck.

Payal's eyes fell on Khushi and they both parted instantly.

"Di, I am sorry," Payal said and ran from there and Khushi looked at mortified Akash questioningly.

"Oh God, why always me? This was the first time I did it and I am caught," He closed his eyes and made a cute face.

"What is all this?" Khushi fumed.

Akash waited for Khushi to pounce on him. He could clearly imagine Khushi dramatically accusing him for breaking her trust and stabbing at her back in her absence and flirting with her sister.

I love Payal but Khushi would never believe me. He thought.

"I love her, I love her, Khushi." Akash said breathlessly and waited for a tight slap from her.

When the much waited slap didn't reach his cheek he opened his eyes slowly and found Khushi looking at him intently.

"If this is another time pass affair for you, then let me tell you Payal is my responsibility and I would kill you barehanded if you tried to break her heart." Khushi tried to stifle her laugh.

"I love her and I want to marry her. I wanted to talk to you but I was waiting for the right time." He said seriously.

"Well, then I am giving you the right time." She finally smiled relieving him.

"You are such a sweet heart," Akash hugged her excitedly.

"I will ask my parents to meet beeje and fix everything soon. I can't wait anymore." Akash beamed

Akash turned to leave but then halted for a moment.

"You know, you smiled for the first time in six months, apart from your forceful smiles that you give in the business parties." Akash told her seriously, leaving baffled Khushi behind.

I smiled? She asked herself.

How can I do that when I know that I would get nothing but despair?

Arnav Singh Raizada is affecting me from the time I met him. He made me shed those unshed tears. He brought a smile on my lips. This has to end now; I can't let him affect me. She thought resolutely.

This very loneliness is a part of my life now. I can't share my pain with anyone.

Yeah I managed to get the first spot

It was a marvelous update. Love the way ur update didn't turn out to be the usual expected stuff

ā¤ļø all the quoted lines

āļøWill this stranger also betray me just like my fate betrayed me. Especially when I am in such a vulnerable condition all at his mercy?

Lightening flashed in the east and thunder rumbled a posthumous threat.

"Leave me," She uttered while struggling to get herself free.

"Shh," She heard him say.

"Drink some water,"

"You are all wet, you will catch cold. Let me dry you." His words brought a relief to her restless heart

Didn't expect things to move this way. It was nice to read the unexpected turn of events. Arnav concerned for Khushi & taking care of her was nice

āļøShe opened her eyes lazily and their eyes met. Her innocent eyes were shimmering with pain. But now it had one more thing that accompanied pain it was accusation. Her eyes were complaining.

"You don't need to worry. I know my limits." His voice showed some emotions as he uttered those words.

Arnav is really confusing. Thought that due to the behavior of Rahul, Arnav's possessiveness & Khushi's denial to accept his help at the party would make Arnav blindly do things at the guest house as he was drunk. But thank goodness, he acted in a way not to hurt Khushi & add more to her pain

āļøLife is strange. Life is unpredictable. Sometimes you get deceived or disappointed by the people you trusted most in your life. And sometimes you are unable to trust anyone, and then a stranger is there to rebuild something new and beautiful from the ruins of that tattered trust.

Khushi's thoughts on live & trust was well portrayed

āļøThere was some bond that was connecting them both since the time they had met. No matter how hard they were trying to escape, it was bringing them closer. Something was connecting them together. May be their fate or may be the pain that was common in both.

Waiting to know, whether they were connected in the past & if so how & also the cause behind their pain

āļøI am unable to forget the pain in her eyes since I met her. Her painful words in that diary are still lingering in my mind, the way she shed those tears helplessly one day back and the way she tried to hide them, are adding to my grief.

I'm wondering what was written in her diary that caused so much of grief within him

āļøI never thought that my life would take such a turn where pain will absorb me to such an extent that this fire would be soothing and the rain would seem to be way harsher than the fire.

Though touching fire is forbidden

Yet it sooth me from within

These were the best lines of today. The poetic lines written by u was awesome

āļøI know what you are thinking. You will blame me for the thing I have not done. And I don't know how I would make you believe that nothing happened between us. He thought.

"Arnav," She got up from the bed and Arnav was ready to hear the worst accusation.

"I am sorry and thank you," Her words shocked him.

"Yeah, sorry for causing you so much trouble and thank you for not taking advantage of me when you could have done worst with me."

"I don't deserve these words," He told her

"You are wrong. You deserve much more than these simple words for what you did for me last night." She countered.

"Please, stop it. Tell me anything, but not these words." He panted.

"But I don't know any other words," She said.

"May be words are not needed,"

"Why is there so much pain in your eyes?" She asked him because this pain had been haunting her too.

"Because I deserve each bit of it, I never realized until now that even this pain is not a right punishment for me."

Wow, Khushi apologizing & thanking him was again an unexpected event. Really eager to know why Arnav is talking in a weird way. The mention of punishment has made me conclude that some past deed of his has caused Khushi grief

āļø"Oh God, why always me? This was the first time I did it and I am caught," He closed his eyes and made a cute face.

Akash waited for Khushi to pounce on him.

"I love her, I love her, Khushi." Akash said breathlessly and waited for a tight slap from her.

"If this is another time pass affair for you, then let me tell you Payal is my responsibility and I would kill you barehanded if you tried to break her heart." Khushi tried to stifle her laugh.

"Well, then I am giving you the right time."

"You know, you smiled for the first time in six months, apart from your forceful smiles that you give in the business parties." Akash told her seriously, leaving baffled Khushi behind.

Finally the flirty head is in love šŸ˜† Thought he would be bashed by Khushi but seems like it is Akash's lucky day

āļøHow can I do that when I know that I would get nothing but despair?

Arnav Singh Raizada is affecting me from the time I met him. He made me shed those unshed tears. He brought a smile on my lips. This has to end now; I can't let him affect me. She thought resolutely.

This very loneliness is a part of my life now. I can't share my pain with anyone.

Is Khushi aware that Arnav is the cause of some pain? What are the unshed tears she is speaking about ? Why does she want loneliness? What she doesn't want to share her pain?

Waiting eagerly for the next update
