Barun Sobti recently opened up about his mental health journey during the season finale of Be A Man, Yaar! Season 3, sharing how he came to realize he had ADHD before receiving a professional diagnosis.

The actor revealed that he was the first to notice the signs and eventually decided to consult a therapist. Recalling his first appointment, Barun shared that the therapist laughed and asked him how he was so certain that he had ADHD.

Explaining what made him suspect the condition, Barun Sobti said, “My legs are always moving. I cannot concentrate on one conversation that doesn’t interest me. I have to move constantly. I cannot sleep. I have anxiety issues.

He further said that when he looks back at his childhood, the symptoms now seem much clearer. According to Barun, his mother often described him as an extremely hyperactive child. However, during those years, there was very little awareness about ADHD, making it difficult for people to recognize the condition.

During the conversation, Barun also addressed the stigma surrounding mental health. He said that one of the biggest reasons people avoid asking for help is the fear of being judged. Many worry about how others will see them and hesitate to speak openly about their struggles.

The actor explained that people are often quick to make assumptions about those dealing with mental health conditions. He pointed out that many are afraid of being called “mad,” which stops them from seeking timely support and having honest conversations about their wellbeing.

By sharing his own experience, Barun Sobti highlighted the need for greater awareness and acceptance of mental health issues. He stressed that conditions such as ADHD and anxiety are medical concerns and should not be viewed as personal weaknesses. His candid remarks encouraged people to seek professional help without fear of judgment and reinforced the importance of making mental health conversations more open and normal.
