@Ash: Right...When we started watching this show, I remember, as viewers, our perception was totally reverse. We idolized Dubeys for taking such a bold stand as getting their bahu remarried (we still respect them for that), and at the same time we kinda frowned upon some of the rigid and unreasonably orthodox principles of the Scindias. Look...how the CVs played upon the story...When the picture became broader and clearer, we found Dubeys to be quite a disfunctional family, where Shobha was too rigidly principled, so much so that she conducted her own son's last rites to favor Aarti's rights, and later jumped the spectrum to the other end and went overboard in getting back life for the same son...but now at the cost of Aarti's rights and her life. For their son's life, they put in jeopardy Aarti's unborn baby. Mr Satyendra was flip-flopping for and against Aarti all the time...and less said about Prashant the better. Also, Shobha and her husband were half the time at the opposite ends of a decision.
On the contrary, Scindias have emerged as a cohesive unit, who love and protect their own and function as one.
