I guess its the people vs. Paridhi schindia. Usually in murder cases it'll be like that. No family member is required to file the case. Investigations will be carried out and the state will file a case against the suspected criminal.

Sorry if my explanation is wrong. I watch a lot of crime/law series(english) so I'm using my knowledge from that. Please don't throw chappals at me my dear lawyers or aspiring lawyers.😆

well i think he is the public prosecutor... but yeah being a very rich family and a reputed one mehtas won't go for a public prosecutor... so he isn't one... i think mehtas family other than his wife are trying to defend karan mehta and we have already saw that... pankaj was telling the same to yash while they were returning from the 2nd hearing of court session... so Mrs mehta was made to be silent spectator in all this issue... may be they gave dhamki to her to be silent... so she was being silent all the while fearing the threat they gave her...but our aarthi n yash went to her and explained her the situation and made her come n give the witness...
