Everyone has negative shade: Jacqueline hints on race 2 story

Jacqueline Fernandez who debuted with Amitabh Bachchan-Riteish Deshmukh starrer 'Aladin' will soon be seen in thriller masters Abbas-Mustan's most awaited multi-starrer Race 2 which has Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor and John Abraham.

Jacqueline will be seen playing a negative role in the film and is paired up with John Abraham. Speaking about the film the actress says "Every one in the film has a negative shades and i am very proud to be a part of Race 2. It was the first time that i got to play a character which is Negative and Intense at the same time. The beauty of Race is you will see every character with dark shade in the film until proved innocent at the end." On her journey career, Very few might know Jacqueline Fernandez was also a journalist and used to write weekly columns in 'Daily Mirror' named tabloid back home in Sri Lanka.

As far as her 'Link Up' with director Sajid Khan is concerned, The actress responded in a very polite way "I am actually getting very used to it. Link Up makes your job very interesting otherwise life is such a Bore." Well, all we can wish that Jacqueline's life get's more and more interesting after new transformation of her character from Race 2.

Race 2 is a sequel to Race (2008) and is expected to hit the silver screen on January 25th

Race 2: Pritam's excited to work with 'Race' team again

Producer Ramesh Taurani and composerPritam have collaborated for a number of chartbusters in the past.

The duo is back again with Race 2, starring Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone,Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor andAmeesha Patel.

While the title track — Allah Duhai Hai — from Race (2008) has been recreated with new sound elements, other songs in the album are also catchy.

Says Pritam, "It's really fun to work with the Race team once again.Race 2 is our sixth film together. It shows the faith that Rameshji has in me. Work wise, we share an excellent rapport."

Adds Taurani, "Pritam has been a very busy music director. However, I am glad that he made an exception for Race 2. And he has delivered some rocking numbers once again."

Race 2 wins over Deepika

She has taken a break from Ye Jawaani... and Ram Leela to promote the Abbas-Mustan thriller

Deepika Padukone, who had famously walked out of Abbas-Mustan's Race 2 citing date issues, is now using the film as a reason to take a break from both Ayaan Mukerji's Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela.

TOI has learnt the two projects she is shooting for simultaneously, will have to be put on hold because she is taking time off in January to promote Abbas-Mustan's film.

Next month, she will travel to different parts of the world to promote the multi-starrer.

A source close to Deepika confirmed the news and said, "She will be occupied for the most part of January promoting Race 2. That is why she requested Ayaan and Bhansali to let her go for some time. Ayaan and Bhansali were not too amused but they relented."

Seems that the makers of Race 2 have happily left the past behind.

When contacted, co-producer of Race 2 Jay Shewakramani said, "Deepika is very excited at the response she has been getting on Race 2. She is going all out to promote the film to the fullest."

Race 2 to have international DJs?

Partygoers are always looking for that next dance number and Bollywood films seldom disappoint, since every release has a couple of such tracks on their albums. Now, the songs from Ramesh Taurani's next action-thriller, Race 2, seem to have created a major buzz among dance music lovers as well. When the new single from the film, 'There's a party on my mind', was released, little did Taurani know that it would be so popular.

"Ever since we released the song earlier last week, we have been getting calls and e-mails from DJs around the world, who want to remix it. Even Pritam was approached for the same. For now, we haven't decided whom to select," says Taurani.

DJs from clubs in Canada, USA, London, Dubai and India are on the list. "DJ Suketu has always remixed songs from my movies and he is keen to remix the song too. From the calls we've got so far, we have chosen four DJs and will announce the name of the one whose remix will be used in the music CD," says Taurani.

Music director Pritam will decide which DJ to finally select, adds Taurani. "I will be involved in the decision too but of course he knows best," he says. Though Taurani refuses to reveal the names of the shortlisted DJs, an insider says, "The New York-based DJ Jay Dabhi has been finalised for the remix."

The song was shot on a beach in Turkey. "It takes place at a party to celebrate John Abraham's character's acquisition of many casinos. We flew in 70 dancers from Russia, since Turkey had none," says the creative producer of the film, Jay Shewakramani.

John Abraham refuses to promote Race 2 at the Mumbai Marathon

John Abraham has apparently refused to promote Ramesh Taurani's Race 2 at the Mumbai Marathon, but the producer is still hoping that John changes his mind.

John has been an active part of this marathon for several years now, but reportedly the actor does not want to mix business with the passion of several fitness oriented people including him, and that is mainly the reason why he does not want to promote the film there.

John said that he has no knowledge about the film being promoted on the marathon platform and he is not endorsing it. "Mumbai Marathon is here to support NGO's. If one film's promotion happens on this platform, it will eventually become a trend. This marathon is for a particular cause and it is not right to shift focus from the cause to a film's promotion. I don't think I will encourage this, even if it is my own film," he added.

The second side of the story from producer Ramesh Taurani goes in a different direction. Ramesh says that John has not completely refused to do the promotion yet. "The promotion is still in talks with the organizers and we have not come to any conclusion so far. We still have to work dates out," he stated.

Race 2 is directed by Abbas-Mustan and also stars Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.

Race 2 has been a great experience: Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone says the action-packed Race 2 also has dollops of glamour, and says shooting for it has been a great experience.

"It has been great. 'Race 2' has been a wonderful journey for me. I am very proud of it. The movie is an action thriller, but it also has a lot of glamour. The first film of the franchise did well too," Deepika said on the sidelines of the launch of a new skin cream BB by Garnier, here Friday.

The actress says the movie is important to her, and she will readily devote adequate time to its promotions.

"Race 2 is very important to me, and even its promotion is very important as well," she said.

Deepika says she shares a good camaraderie with her Race 2 co-actors; Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham.

"Saif and I have worked before so that comfort level comes. The same is true for John too," she said.

About her beauty secrets, the actress says she often uses natural tricks to make her skin look beautiful.

"I believe that less is more. So a healthy diet, drinking lots of water and adequate sleep really helps. All these things reflect positively on your skin," she said.

Talking about brand endorsements, she said that she ensures that every brand she decides to endorse is an extension of her personality.

"I believe that every brand which I endorse has to be an extension of my personality and it has to come naturally," she said.
