Karachi: Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Imran Khan has warned the Pakistan cricket team to quickly sort out its opening pair problem or prepare for an early exit from next year's World Cup.

"Pakistan should find a suitable opening pair before the 2007 World Cup otherwise it will not be easy for the team to advance into the next stage," Imran said.

The 1992 World Cup-winning captain said, openers apart, Pakistan had a balanced side but a good start was important for victory.

"As Pakistan are a balanced side, it could be the only issue of openers which could lead the side to World Cup failure. We only need a good start

which forms the wining base," Imran was quoted as saying by The News.
In the last couple of years, Pakistan selectors have not been able find a solid opening pair.
