I too want to share a point with everyone in case you all didn't know

The 10th of muharram is also the day of the murder and slaughter of the GRANDSON of the our Prophet! It is a day of mourning. He (Hussein) was killed along with his family and children and 72 companions. Water was cut off from them for 3 days before they were murdered one by one, even his 6 month old child was not spared.

This isn't a day to celebrate and fast. In fact there are traditions of how today should be mourned.

Yes dear, you are right they did sacrifice a lot for Islam

But in Islam fasting is always for a happy occasion. Never for a sad one. The traditions have been changed to fool people to forget this sacrifice and instead make people fast.
