PART 1
Manvi stood numb at the revelation, letting the words sink in. The same words kept looming around her, screaming at her.
"I slept with someone else," was all she could hear. It suffocated her and she felt her knees give up. She fell on the floor still trying to make sense of the words he just uttered. She somehow managed to gain composure and stood up.
"Virat I know you are tensed about your work but lying about such things that too a week before our marriage is unforgivable. You know what, I forgive you for screaming at me yesterday, I understand you were stressed out." She fixed his collar, his tie while speaking and avoided looking into his eyes.
He grabbed her wrist and made her look at him. "I'm not lying. I think you should leave."
For a few seconds that she looked at him she saw that he was serious and it was no joke. Instead of regret there was anger in his eyes, maybe towards himself? She couldn't quite figure it out. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't believe it. Virat would never do this to her.
"Virat calm down, I know it is not true." She tried to save her world again. Without Virat she had nothing, without him her life is like an empty canvas.
He looked away from her; in defeat, due to sadness, due to regret- she didn't know.
"Who is she?" Manvi whispered.
Facing his back towards her he answered in a clear voice, "Maya."
And just like that her world shattered into pieces. She lost the essence of her existence right there. She grew up as an orphan so she'd seen pretty rough days. That was probably the reason why she never feared loss, life gives you what you deserve and takes away what you don't, she believed. She never ran after anything and simply went with the flow, trusting Him to guide her throughout.
After she met Virat, three years ago, in college, her life gradually changed. Both hated each other in the beginning but became friends soon. After the marriage of their elder siblings they became relatives as well. In a year or so things gradually changed between them, from mere friends they became lovers. Virat was the first one to realize his love and eventually she caught on too.
The Vadheras and the Chaudharys were both happy with their decision and decided to get the duo married. Manvi couldn't have been happier, afterall she was getting married to her partner, love of her life. There was also an added bonus, she would get to live with her sister for the rest of her life.
But who knew fate would be so cruel? After her sister if she trusted anyone it was Virat. Blind faith, that is what she liked to call it. She could have trusted him with her life. How easily that changed today. His one action left her with nothing at all, nothing to look forward to, nothing to live for.
Can she ever get over this betrayal? Her heart protested in her chest, she would never be able to get over this. People say 'time heals all wounds,' but this was something that would never heal. For the rest of her life she'd have to live through this. Time froze for her in that instant and she realized the bitter truth, she would never move on from this; even years later she'd still be in the same place as today- dejected and heartbroken.
Without a word, without a last glance she left the park. She ran as fast as she could, she needed to get away from him from everything before she lost her mind. But no matter how fast she ran her mind kept drifting back to him. Her heart yearned for his touch, for those protective pair of arms around her. She ran harder to get the images out of her head.
Sometime later she tripped and fell on the floor, scraping her palms and knees. She sat on the ground not ready to move yet. Tears pooled in her eyes but they weren't willing to flow. It seemed like even her insides wanted her to suffer. She was surprised how her heart was still beating, how she was still alive. She placed her hand over her chest to feel her heartbeat. It was definitely still beating which disappointed her. She sat there on the side of the road waiting for death to engulf her, her heartbreak to be the reason for the end of her life.
Hours later she was still breathing; even death cheated her. It seemed like everything in the universe was conspiring against her, hell bent on ruining her.
She found herself going back in past, reliving the old memories.

Gosh I'm nuts. So I was writing a paper on Brooklyn Bridge and somehow ended up writing this. Should prolly go jump off the bridge. This will have 2-3 more parts. I must admit it was more fun writing this than the paper which requires: impeccable spelling and grammar, all info and what not. 15 page paper due next week- wrote a page. *seriously contemplating jumping off my bed again*LOL
PMs not sent out yet. Tomorrow maybe? I'm not going to say when will I complete this because my words don't mean anything, it all depends on my mood. Just today morning I told my goodbyes and here I am with another update. Yeah I'm possessed. And here I go with the rambling again. As one of you said "my notes are longer than my updates" SO TRUE :D
