Her version of being "real" isn't to be sarcastic or borderline nasty about another actress but to say something sensible so I really like the girl off screen.

This was an example. No foot kissing about how "wonderful" SRK is but just stating that he's human and shit happens----and not in some cloying wannabe cute girl and charm Shahrukh kind of way but in a sensible woman kind of way.

I really think Kat might be cool to hang with unfortunately her chill demeanor and sensible manner seem so deeply a part of her that she can't even be flamboyant when it's called for---i.e. on screen---so her scripted personality comes off as dry and distant.

Still, I LOVE the self respect and refusal to fall into the totally fake seeming, boot-licking, wallowy servitude just because some dude was in movies for a few years longer and had some successes.

Hell, Meryl streep won some oscars but she doesn't raise the dead, nor is she going to give ME the damned oscar or her bank account for kissing her butt!

I'm guessing Kat's manner is just easier for me to swallow due to cultural differences though.
