Mithoon, a 20-year-old just-out-of-college young boy, has composed two numbers for director Onir's (My Brother Nikhil fame) second film. Of the five tracks in Bas Ek Pal, two have been composed by the youngster. While the title track has been sang by KK and Dominique Cerejo, 'Tere bin ...', which has a Sufi feel to it, is in the voice of Atif Aslam of 'Woh lamhe ...' fame. There is also the remixed version of the title-track by Mithoon. The other composers for the film are Pritam and Viveck Philip. "Music lovers will relate with my songs both when they listen to it and when they watch it on screen as they have even been picturised very beautifully. I am sure the songs will strike a chord with all of them and they will accept me as an upcoming musician," feels Mithoon. The youngster proudly states that Shailesh R Singh, producer of Bas Ek Pal, signed him on after he liked the remixed version of 'Woh lamhe ...' from Zeher and 'Aadat ...' from Kalyug which was done by Mithoon. "Onir was very clear in his mind what he wanted for his film. He was also very helpful to a newcomer like me. I was encouraged a lot by his team," says the debutant composer adding that he is here only because of the blessings of his father Naresh Sharma, the noted composer who, he says, "trained my brains to get addicted to music". "My father has been a great influence in my life and has helped me bring in that essence of Indianness into my creations," claims Mithoon who is also looking forward to the release of Manish Jha's Anwar wherein he has composed three tracks. The young music director has already bagged an international project: he will be composing music for director Sharad Sharan's Malaysian film titled Diva. "Lyricist Loloq from Malaysia has been very helpful with the diction and the style of their music. As for me, though, it was a different experience doing the music for a foreign language, I enjoyed the exposure. It has provided me the base for more such endeavours," grins the youngster.
