SANCHI'S ROOM
Sanchi is about to tuck Indu in, but decides against it. Her ego was still hurting. She then leaves him alone and goes forth to the couch to retire for the night.
Next morning - MATHURS' The Verrandah outside
Next morning Tarachand opens the main door and finds Abhimanyu sleeping on their verrandah. He tries waking the slumbering man up. After repeated attempts, Abhimanyu finally opens his eyes. He then sadly explains that he'd been kicked out of his house by his mother and sister the previous night.
Tarachand explains that a mother would never do something like this unless she was driven to such extent. He starts advising the young man to start taking up his responsibilities.
Just then, Sadanand arrives and uses this opportunity to instigate the father by reminding him that Abhimanyu was Indu's friend and hence following Indu's unruly ways of life!
'These boys would never change...' the lawyer quips 'You can try and try, but they will never reform themselves...especially their leader, Indu Singh'
SANCHI'S ROOM
Sanchi gets ready for university. Sitting in front of the mirror, she watches the reflection of her husband - who was still fast asleep. Just as she's about to apply the sindoor on her foreheard, she recollects the harsh words he'd told her the previous night and stops in her tracks. It is precisely at this moment that Indu too wakes up. He asks her to fetch him a cup of tea, but she stubbornly disregards his request - going on to hang her jhola on her shoulder.
When she turns around, she finds him standing in front of her.
He tells her that he'd had enough of running behind her for so long and that now it was high time she did the same to him - even if she didn't have to run behind him, she could at least walk beside him and support him for who he was!
'You'll have no dearth of happiness in your life if you do so' he concludes.
The irate girl just walks out of the room while Indu nods his head in disdain.
THE KITCHEN
Sanchi angrily rushes into the kitchen and prepares a cup of tea for Indu - the bitterness evident on her face. She can't seem to get over what Indu had turned into!
Once the tea was nearly boiling over, she switches it off and requests Anita to give it to him when he arrived for breakfast. Anita suggests that Sanchi should give it to him herself as that'd make him much happier. However, Sanchi retorts that Indu didn't deserve such service from her.
'Then why did you make it in the first place' Anita asks gently
'Because he might sacrifice his responsibilities to his ego and anger, but not me' Sanchi explains 'I'm leaving for university now'
UNIVERSITY
Sanchi is pouring her heart out to Mehek over phone about the problems she was facing - the university fund scandal, Indu's bizarre behaviour and the sort!
Just then, a student runs to Sanchi and interrupts her. The anxious young man lets her know that the hostel students were being forced to vacate their rooms to give way to a handful of other older students. The hostelites had received threats over phone and didn't know what to do. Sanchi is plunged into a myriad of thoughts about the disturbing developments. She then decides to have a word with the hostel warden.
UNIVERSITY GROUNDS
Sanchi approaches a few students to enquire about the hostel issue. There, she receives a phone call and it was from none other than Ranjith - basically, warning her to stay out of his business! Thereafter, the unprepared Sanchi was in for a shock when the vicious politician metes her a volley of death threats. Startled, the phone slips from her hand while Ranjith ends his intimidating call.
Unbeknown to her, Indu had been observing all of it from a distance. He gets worried when he watches his wife's shaken state and approaches her to find out what the issue was. He picks up her phone from the ground and is about to call-back to find out who'd threatened his wife. However, Sanchi swiftly regroups herself, snatches the phone from Indu and walks away - letting him know that it was none of his business.
Watching her storm away, Indu vows that he'd find out what the matter was an MAKE it his!
STAFF ROOM
Sanchi interrupts the staff discussions to question Janardhan on the happenings in the campus - albeit the 'hostel' issue!
Sanchi suspects that the hostel was being subjected to anti-social elements. Janardhan plays the 'innocent' game and reveals that he knew nothing of the sort!
UNIVERSITY CORRIDOR
Indu questions the group of hostel-boys about what the troubling matter was. After some coaxing, the boys finally cough up the information - aka that Sanchi had probably received death threats from someone. Needless to say, Indu is instantly rattled. He sends his stooges to sniff up any information they could and then goes to seek Sanchi himself. After a short while, he finds her sitting in her empty classroom.
CLASSROOM
Walking up to her, he asks her whether she thought of it all as a game. A death threat was no joke and here, she didn't even bother telling him about it. He then decides to snatch the phone from her, but she doesn't allow him to do so. She instructs him to stay out of the whole issue. Having said so, Sanchi tries walking away from him but Indu stops her.
His hands on his hips, he tells her off for her complacency 'How could you say this has nothing to do with me...you are my wife...now, someone threatens to kill my wife you expect me to stay put and do nothing about it? No way...you know me... just give me the mobile'
'You'll take care of this issue only with violence like you've done so long...' she argues 'Indu, I will never support your violent ways...there's no difference in the violence this man's actions depicts from your's...I'll die, but will NOT solve my problems your way...I've said this before and say it now again...I'll handle my problems my way!'
'Fine...do it your way...but, you'll never be successfull!' Indu challenges her
'How could you say that? Have you ever tried my way?'
'No and I don't want to ever either...this principled way of life is easier to preach that practice.' he thunders 'This world is cruel and listens to the powerful...'
'Fine I challenge you that I'll solve my problems my way...'
'Fine...I'll wait and watch...you're here and I'm here too...let's see how this goes...'
Once she leaves, Indu vows that he wouldn't sit idly - after all it was a matter of Sanchi's safety.
UNIVERSITY GROUNDS
Indu had amassed the college students in the grounds in order to address them. He informs them about the 'death threats' and requests anyone with information to step forward. The students respond that they didn't know about the perpetrator but that many untoward things were taking place in campus.
As Sanchi strolls through the empty University, she soon realizes that all the students had assembled at the grounds. From the terrace, she views Indu provoking the students against the wrongdoers and warning everyone of the bloodshed that would ensue if anyone dared do anything against his wife or his campus! Following this, Indu and Sanchi share a distant yet powerful eye-lock!
PRECAP
Indu and his friends are hitting a student when Janardhan summons the police force to have Indu arrested. Just then, Sanchi interrupts the clamour.
