Dragon club thanks all members for their patronage. We welcome every POV & opinion and are grateful for all the members, visitors , stalkers , new entrants for gracing and making DC a super hit. As we all know this thread is viewed & read by tens of thousands. The reason we are a hit is , we have dedicated to discussing the show & every nuance of the characters, story telling and the show's technical brilliance primarily. Our vision was never about the actors but the Show. With our ever expanding family , we have to make some changes to make this thread more user friendly . So here onwards , we will be implementing some new rules which will be applicable with immdeate effect.
2. Too much actor praising . We have Appreciation threads for it. Members can utilize it for that purpose. This is not to say it will not be allowed here . DC members can praise our actors in terms of looks , chemistry and acting for sure but without going overboard and hopefully limited to the scope of our show Punar Vivah.
3. Please stop bringing past resume/shows discussion of the actors needlessly.
4. Absolutely no personal lives talk will be entertained anymore. If you want to discuss GC or KS's personal life , this thread is not the place.
5. If you reserve on the first page (or even if you accidentally post there) you must fill that post with something relevant to the episode, be it a short or long take, a fiction piece, pictures or videos.
Very, very short take from me today since I have too much work!
- Even though some of Aarti's dialogues were frankly a bit nauseating today, especially the one about how much she had to learn from Yash, she was doing the right thing for her and Yash. She is making the standard she holds him to as a person quite clear, and expressing her expectations for his handling of her truth before she comes out with it. But she is not doing this in a demanding way, or with an ultimatum. Instead, she is making Yash feel strong and admired so when the time comes, and he is tested by the truth revelation, he will feel like living up to what she thinks of him. Given that she genuinely does think he is superman, there is no insincerity about her praise, but it is smartly placed, and phrased, to make him clear on what she thinks and hopes of his reaction, before she comes out with the truth.
- The naada thing shows that Yash is starting to get conscious in front of Aarti, I think, which is an interesting sign. Before, there was friendly comfort between them, so he didn't care about being in a bathrobe, or even a towel in front of her... he didn't really care what she thought of him, or more precisely he just assumed she was generally impressed, because he was that self-centered. But now things have changed with him waking up to the formidable woman she is, and with her articulating what she thinks of him. She said in front of Pankaj and Vidhi that she thinks he is a great man, and this shows that he wants to do everything in his power to live up to that image, so he is hyper conscious when caught in a position that makes him look less great-manly in front of her. When you really start liking a person, you start to worry about how you look to them...Yash is showing those adorable first signs!
- Probably my favourite part of the episode was when they talked about the kids. My favourite AarYa moments are always those when they are being parents together because they are both so darn good at it individually, that when they come together it is always a treat. There was a throwback to the fact that Yash couldn't comb Payal's hair, in the whole conversation about the naada and housewives. Aarti tells him, I know you can do everything by yourself, but don't hesitate to let me help you. This is what Yash's family never told him, and why he felt like such a lousy father, which further made him seek refuge in his mind-Arpita, the only one who listened and who didn't judge. If his family had been able to express something similar, he wouldn't have been so desperate to prove his mastery of the sundries of parenting, like hair-combing and might have more freely thrown himself into the side that he is really good at, the side that matters, of emotional nurture and stability.
- The conversation with the baby was too cute! It was Yash's way of making sure that in all her zealous do-gooding, Aarti hadn't forgotten her own delicate condition: a sneak peak at the balance he is going to provide her. She is always going to be like this, impulsively throwing herself into other people's problems without a care for herself, and now that he is here, he is going to be the one to make sure she is taken care of in turn. I love that line when he told the baby he would shout at her but with love...it was his indirect statement that he was not going to go post-Mumai on her again, not going to do anything to harm her or the baby. When Aarti said they needed no phones, she was assuring Yash that he is just as connected to this baby as she is, and does not need to go through her.
EDIT: It also occurred to me that Aarti apologising for sending the kids away without asking Yash was her way of saying sorry for running away the way she did, not thinking about how much Payal and Palak need her and how much Ansh and the baby need Yash. So they both, in all the banter, tacitly reassured each other that they wouldn't repeat their past mistakes (Yash being violent and Aarti running away), and that they trusted the other not to repeat theirs: Aarti when she said Yash didn't need a phone to talk to the baby (despite the fact that he had rejected it unknowingly) and Yash when he said that he trusted Aarti completely as the kids' mother (even though she had made a bad decision for them when she ran away). So they put the past behind them and promised to trust each other once more...which is, of course, why Aarti was all guilty.
- Finally, I actually thought the head massage thing was very symbolic. Aarti has made such a comfortable situation for Yash, taking away all his pain, that she has lulled his angst and turmoil regarding this relationship to sleep. In this state, he can't really process what she is trying to say to him. So the message is that she has to wake him up before she tells him, instill a sense of urgency and worry in him before she comes out with the truth, rather than trying to tell him when he feels so comfortable that he cannot perceive her pain. She has to bridge the gap between his bubble, that he is happily in right now, and her turmoil so that he can come and help her out...and Aarti has to accept that she can't do this without popping the bubble.
Guess it wasn't so short after all! 😛
