Hey everyone, I hope it's cool that I opened up a topic, I was gonna post under Asma's review but the post got really long and I figured I should just make a topic out of it. I've been around I-F for a really long time but seeing the number of posts I have, anyone can tell I'm not always an active member. I just finished watching the 4th episode and a I thought I would like to share a few things with everyone.
I've gotta say if this show ever goes down it will be all thanks to the supporting cast. I've never witnessed such incompetence in a supporting cast before, barring a few (namely Rashid, Zoya's Bro in Law and KSG's Mom) the entire supporting cast comprises of people who believe in really loud expressions and heaving/sighing to move a scene forward. I know KSG is a great actor and Zoya so far hasn't irked me in anyway but everyone else besides the 3 actors I mentioned in the parenthesis are annoyingly superficial. Urdu is the most eloquent language that I know of, and these people are butchering it left right and centre. It's fine if you don't have the accent down, but I don't like how they think normal people speak Urdu. Hate to say but the CVs shouldve taken a good look at a few Pakistani dramas. Coming back to the supporting cast,,, I'm sorry but they are BAD! unbearable especially everyone in Ayaan's family including Ayaan. ANd what's the deal with Asad's sister? She makes an appearence, sighs for a bit and exits. I thought she would be slightly more upbeat like they showed in the promo? And what's wrong with the writers? When did Mamu jaan turn into Taya Abbu?(referring to Ayaan and his dad's scene) Taya is a dad's brother and Mamu is a mom's brother, unless they think it's cool for us to think that Rashid and Shirin are siblings, they should get the relations right, it's only the 4th episode, not the 40th.
Coming to the good points: I liked the conversation between Asad and Dilshad. Im beginning to think that maybe just MAYBE Asad didn't really need a sister... so far she's useless and I like the mother-son dynamic more than a forced third party. Without the sister the other two would've worked perfectly as a team. I also enjoyed Zoya's character development, so far the CVs have her part down. I don't know how many of you would agree with me but I really think this show needs a few solid supporting actors and I have a feeling the guy playing Ayaan's role will never grow on me ... along with Shirin and Asad's sister(yes it seems like I have a real problem with the poor girl lol)
In the end, like all my posts usually end in this forum, I would like to say I'm watching this show for KSG and I do plan to stick around for a while. And so far I really like the vibe of this forum so I maybe start posting a bit more. Hope no one get's offended by my views.
