Kareena's fans were eagerly waiting to see the superstar being credited as Kareena Kapoor Khan for the first time. However, Kareena Kapoor disappointed all by choosing to retain her old name. Director Reema Kagti put all speculation to rest by clarifying that it was Kareena's decision not to be credited as Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Kareena's old name is not the only 'old' thing to be showcased in the movie. The movie will showcase, probably for the last time, the chawls, mills and old style buildings of old Mumbai (earlier Bombay). Shot in 47 real locations in areas around Charni Road, Lower Parel, Colaba, and Grand Road, the movie shows chawls and mills that have now been demolished for reconstruction. This compelled director Reema Kagti to combine CG effects and new locations to complete her shooting.

Aamir Khan's penchant for perfection seems to have rubbed off on director Reema Kagti as well. Finding the murky water of a lake in Khopoli to be unsuitable for underwater shots, she shifted the entire shoot to the Pinewood Underwater Stage in London for the perfect shot. She also chose to transport a Mumbai Police Jeep from Mumbai to London just to ensure the shot was authentic and true to the last detail. Aamir too has put in extra effort to learn swimming to ensure his numerous underwater scenes in the movie seem realistic and authentic.
