From past experience, US will never be ahead of India. Once we catch up, we will follow the same schedule as India and not move past them. The purpose of an extra episode is to sync the different countries.
As of this week, we are two episodes behind but it seems that we are catching up with India because in the US/Canada the show started a week after it did in India. I think there is an extra episode aired in US/Canada each week to bring us closer to India.
