Hrithik's elephantine ambitions
Apparently, the actor is going to learn elephant riding for Akbar Jodha

Hrithik Roshan has done it again. After learning Wushu (a martial art) for Krrish and ice skating for Dhoom 2, the actor is undergoing special training to ride an elephant adeptly and convincingly for Ashutosh Gowarikar's Akbar Jodha, shooting for which begins this month.
"Ashutosh has asked Hrithik to undergo training to ride an elephant. This is not a war movie, but Akbar will be portrayed as a warrior, so Hrithik will have to do couple of action sequences. Akbar used to ride on an elephant and would rarely ride a horse. Hence the emphasis that Hrithik learn elephant riding," says our source.
Hrithik, is excited about the project, but prefers to be tightlipped about his character or delve details about the film. "Hrithik is an extremely dedicated actor and is always keen to learn whatever is required for the film. He has been working out regularly to get back his lean and toned body," says our source.
The actor recently met Ashutosh and they had an extensive chat regarding the character and the costume. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror in the past, Hrithik had said, "I have complete faith in Ashutosh's directorial capability. Had it been any other director, I wouldn't have agreed to do a period film. For Akbar Jodha, I will start reading books on Mughal history, especially on Emperor Akbar. All I can say about the film is that the depiction of Akbar is nothing like what we have seen in the past. It's sad that whenever we talk of historical films, people have an image of a theatrical representation of the era. But Ashu's film will be far more real and a true representation of the era."
