I agree Esha, The current happenings are completely out of Shiv's 'ever alert' character. I think S was preparing himself as well as A for the future turn of events, what ever they may be, during their conversation outside the temple. If you remember he told her that he will help her come out of her past but she will have to keep her eyes and mind open to accept it. I still feel that he might have got a whiff of J's intentions (may be not clear but something shady) when he gave his speech in the office after the accident. There is something more to that hesitation before shaking his hands with J and the thought process he had before going to meet A at the temple.

Anyway these are just hopes and a way to keep positive or else I may just have to quit watching the show like I have done with a number of other shows with nonsensical tracks.
