A saree makes every woman look beautiful and elegant. But it is very important to drape the saree in a way that it brings out the best in you. Find below different ways in which you can wrap a saree.

The most common way to drape a saree is to wrap it at the waist, tuck it and then take the pallu on your left shoulder and leave it hanging at your back. You can make pleats and pin it at the shoulder or leave it open. Another way is to take the pallu over the right shoulder and bring it on the front. Make pleats and secure them with a pin. Find below some unique ways to drape a saree.

Maharashtrian
The Maharashtrian saree is quite unique with the centre of the saree tucked on the waist from the back. The ends are secured at the front and two ends are wrapped around the legs.

Bengali
Two large pleats are in the front and the pallu is wrapped twice round the top. The top border of the saree is placed on the left shoulder. Hold the top border the waist and shoulder, and pull the saree in the front and wrap the length around your mid back.

Mumtaz Style
This is named after yesteryear actress Mumtaz. In this style, the saree is draped around the lower part of the body twice. It will make you look slim but be careful while walking.

Dravidian Style
Drape the saree the one and a half times and then cover the left hip with the pleat. The pallu can be draped across the front and then into back of the waist.

Karnataka
The saree is gathered at the waistline and the pallu is held on the left shoulder. The pleats are held at the backside and the rest of the length is wrapped around the breast and held on the right shoulder.

Kerala
The saree consists of two pieces of cream cloth. One part is wrapped around the waistline and the other piece in draped on the shoulder.

A saree makes every woman look beautiful and elegant. STAR Plus ladies drape their sarees in unique ways. They suggest different styles to wrap a saree.

Jeevika says, "I wear the pallu on my left shoulder and make pleats like a dupatta. You can use a brooch to pin the pleats and leave the aanchal a little long."

Gopi shares, "I wear my saree with the palluon my right shoulder. I prefer taking one part of the pallu on my head. That way, I feel comfortable and the pallu gives my face a different glow."

Akshara adds, "I wear my saree in the traditional style. You can cover your head with a pallu or leave it hanging over your right hip. I always make sure to keep my pallus secure so that the pallus fall in proper folds in the front."

Bhabhoo says, "I like the conventional style of draping a saree. I cover my head with the pallu and pin it behind the neck from both sides. I prefer sarees with broad borders as they sit well on the head."

Sandhya explains, "I don't like heavy sarees but go for printed and light material. I keep the pallu on my left shoulder and cover my head when am at home. Sometimes, I pin just the first pleat of the pallu and leave the rest hanging over my left hip."
