Battle of the beauties! Christy Turlington and Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai add a dash of glamour to United Nations charity event
They have each, at one time or another been described as the 'world's most beautiful woman.'
And on Tuesday night, supermodel Christy Turlington and Aishwarya Rai both made for an eye-catching sight as they posed together at a United Nations charity event.
The 38-year-old Bollywood star looked stunning in a bright red and gold floor length gown and loosely curled hair at the Every Woman Every Child Dinner in New York.

Christy plumped for a more casual black suit and blue shirt, with her brown hair pulled into a ponytail.
The women rubbed shoulders with a slew of celebrities including British model Lily Cole, Smash star Debra Messing and model Erin Heatherton, who looked stunning in bright orange.
Debra opted for a conservative high necked, long sleeved dress and heels and sat next to basketball star Shaquille O'Neal inside the event.

Female Prime Ministers and royal figures were also at the dinner for the initiative, which aims to 'accelerate progress' for women and children around the world in key issues such as family planning, child survival and access to essential commodities.
Aishwarya, who is married to fellow Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan with one child, was recently named an ambassador for the United Nations AIDS agency.

According to the New York Daily News, her new role will be mainly advocating the Global Plan, aiming to eliminate new HIV infections among children by 2015 and keep their mothers alive, partly through improving access for women to HIV prevention and treatment services.
The scheme is focused on India and 21 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
'Spreading awareness on health issues, especially related to women and children, has always been a priority for me,' the actress said in a statement.

Model Christy, 43, is a U.S. Delegate to the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
