Only watched up to Rithvik's performance. Will start from the beginning:
Bottom Two/Elimination:
I was somewhat upset over Rashmi in bottom two, I would have been upset had Rithvik been in bottom two. And Gurmeet, his last week's performances weren't as good as Rashmi and Rithvik's, I knew he'd be saved by the voting and won't be in bottom two so from Rithvik and Rashmi, one had to be so I wasn't shocked but disappointed. The competition is getting tougher and tougher so good dancers will have to leave someday...
Bharti:
I can understand where Bharti is coming from. Now she has nothing to lose so said all that. I know and have seen in other Indian Dance Reality shows where if a contestant says something (as in disagrees with Judges over their comments) the judges give lower marks. In Foreign shows it doesn't happen because they are very open and are more into stating-one's-opinion-out-loud even if one is younger/junior. I am not blaming the culture just saying that I can understand where she is coming from.
From JDJ1, I remember Shveta (because she was such an amazing dancer), Mona (winner) and Akashdeep Saigal (Ansh from KSBKBT). The first two are understandable. Akashdeep, why? Well, because Akashdeep didn't have that 'sportsmanship' spirit that is needed in such competitions if one wants to come out with their head held high and their dignity intact (in viewers' eyes) and when he left he left a sour-taste in my mouth (sour, so you can imagine how much I disliked the way he left).
Bharti's case is the same. Had she said the Medical reasons before and specifically asked Judges for time off, I would have understood and supported her but now, when she is in bottom two, it just leaves a bad taste in one's mouth and makes it seem like a case of sour-grapes.
Film Industry/TV Industry/Bollywood is a place where people hold grudges (that's what I have noticed) and even in other non-Show biz-professions too. When one leaves their previous job they don't go out cursing their bosses no matter how much they hated it, do they? What Bharti did is even worse because it's recorded and on the Internet now.
Btw, Bharti and people who keep saying that TRPs were high because of her. I'd really like to request the Producers post/publish minute-by-minute TRPs and then it can be decided whether these claims hold any truth. I know the Producers and directors can get minute-by-minute TRPs to see which section/part of the recording (even for soaps/dramas) had more viewers.
One more thing, Bharti was NOT Eliminated. She WITHDREW due to medical reasons. So her leaving is not elimination, technically speaking.
Rashmi:
I felt so bad for this poor lady. She has been working her back off for this competition and then in the dance-off all this happens... I am just left speechlessđ. Poor her. I hope she does well in her performance and doesn't let all this get to her.
Performances:
As I said earlier, I have only watched till Rithvik's performance so will post my views on his act only. Will post Gurmeet's and Rashmi's later when I have watched them.
Rithvik:
He did Contemporary (my favourite dance formđł, so in a way 'ajj meri Eid ho gayi'đ) and he did it well. I only had a few problems with his form. He should point his toes and hands more. It gives more grace to the steps. He did have pointed toes/hands but not like Yana's, perhaps that's why it was more prominent. Also, when he is reaching, the shoulders should be down, that way that 'reaching' is more meaningful and helps show the concept/feelings from the body language itself. (Any experts in Contemporary, please do correct me if I am wrong, but as a viewer and dance lover that's what I have noticed).
The lifts, the one where Yana is supposed to stand on his knees/thighs. It wasn't done as well. Had it been executed well, it would have been the highlight of the act. That other lift where he is supposed to hold Yana in that side lunge-hanging-in-mid-air lift (can't recall the technical term) was done much better than the other lift. It wasn't even that noticable unless someone has seen that lift done before.
His energy level was in check today and it was a TREAT to watch him and Yana dance. The Choreography was excellent (Sneha, am I becoming a fan now?đ Getting a bit closer on the fan scale so about 5.5 on a 1-10 scale of fandom. 1 being not a fan and 10 being blind-fanđ).
My score: 9 out of 10 - because it was so enjoyable that I forgot about the tiny mistakes here and there and he did Contemporary (so biased score? I don't know)
