TV star Karan Tacker paving his way into Bollywood

Karan Tacker, the leading heartthrob of the small screen, is ready to take his big leap into Bollywood, he is the trend-setter and is paving a new path for himself which many other TV celebrities will also be seen doing in the following years.

Karan is known for his character-centric roles in 'Rang Badalti Odhani', 'Love Ne Mila Di Jodi' and his latest 'Ek Hazaaron Main Meri Behna Hai'. He has also hosted the silver screen awards like Star Sansaar and was also spotted as the hottest host at the IIFA Red Carpet in Singapore this year.
Karan is now looking at joining the film industry and wants to portray characters that are closer to his age and that he can relate to. He has always been selective about the roles he even played on TV. "When I just joined the industry, I was offered 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'. First I accepted it, but then I thought that I was too young to play a husband and I wasn't ready in my head, so I backed out," Karan shares.
"I selected a younger role in 'Love Ne Bana Di Jodi'. It was more notorious and something which I could relate to. It is very important for an actor to go through something so that he can portray it on screen," he added.
Karan, who plays Viren in 'Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai', says "As I have matured in life, so have my characters, from Sameer in 'Love Ne Bana Di Jodi' to Shantanu in 'Rang Badalti Odhani'."
When asked about what kind of cinema and his wish list of directors, "I would love to do films which I can relate to in one way or the other. The length of the role for me is not that important compared to the fact that what will I contribute to the film, portraying that particular character. As for my wish list of directors, I am a very greedy person. I would love to work with all those directors who believe in me and feel that I can bring something valuable on the table."
