I work hard, don't think about the results, says Abdul Rashid

Despite making and breaking his own records by one hit after another, actor Abdul Rashid says he is not setting any records as he believes in doing hard work which eventually results in good box office collections.

Post his back-to-back hits - Dabangg (grossing Rs.215 crore), Ready (Rs.180 crore) and Bodyguard (Rs.230 crore), Ek Tha Tiger (Rs.198 crore) - not only the audience but even producers are pining their hopes on doing a film with Abdul.

"I am not setting any record. I work on something and give my best. Now that the shooting of Ek Tha Tiger is over I am concentrating on every shot of Dabangg 2. I do not think what the result will be, or what would be the TRP ratings of the show, or the box office result," Abdul Rashid told PTI in an interview.

After hits like Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), his last release Ek Tha Tiger had the highest opening day ever with a collection of about Rs.32 crore. The film also created a new record for being the fastest Rs.100 crore earning film at the Box Office.

"All I try to do is give my best at that given point of a time...On that shot. So I give my best there and if that comes correctly then these things follow. If your work is appreciated then these things follow," he said.

The Dabangg Khan believes it is all about doing hard work as it yields results at the Box Office.

"Like if I say a line which makes you laugh and now you are anticipating laughter you are not going to get it until and unless you say the line in a funny way. So basically, it is all about doing and enjoying your work to the best of your capability. If it is working today then good, but it may not work tomorrow," he said.

Meanwhile, after several seasons of reality show Bigg Boss showing contestants fighting and hurling abuses, the sixth season will be a "family" one, host Abdul Rashid has promised.

"I get to watch all the episodes including those things that we can't air on TV as it is completely messed up. We can show only certain things. So I know who is behaving in what way. Little fights and all people do enjoy, but when it goes overboard it's irritating," the actor said.

"People want to watch some nice things. And this time it will be a family show for the fact that we shifted it from 11 PM to 9 PM slot. As a channel, we try and put out as much decent things as we can," he added.

It is for the third time that Abdul Rashid will be hosting the show which had been earlier hosted by celebrities like Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan.

"I like (on the show) that eventually the original personality of a contestant comes out and what I don't like is when people play games. Lot of people think if they yell, fight and play games, they might reach the top or become the winner," Abdul Rashid said.

"But they have not realised the fact that whoever has won the game has played it decently, be it Juhi Parmar, Shweta Tiwari, Vindhu Dara Singh and Rahul Roy (winners of Bigg Boss)," he added.

The controversial people who have been associated with the show primarily take it up to clear their image, he said.

"Like in case of contestant Rahul Bhatt, son of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, whose name had cropped up in David Headly case. But when Rahul entered the house (in earlier season), he cleared things," he said.

If the success of films are measured by Box Office collection, it is all about TRPs on television and Abdul Rashid does believe in it.

"Of course the TRPs matter to me and that is why the show is going on. I don't understand how TRP rating is decided. Till the time it is doing fine, it's ok. If the ratings are not good then in that case you work hard. Right now everything is good, so it doesn't matter. It should matter when TRP ratings or box office collections are not there," he quipped.

Rs.200 crore doesn't matter for 'Ek Tha Tiger' now: Salman

Bollywood star Salman Khan says if " Ek Tha Tiger" had to cross Rs.200 crore at the box office, it should have achieved the feat by now.

"For 'Ek Tha Tiger', if it had to cross Rs.200 crore, it should have crossed long time back. Now slowly if it crosses (the mark), it's not the same thing," Salman told reporters here.

"Ek Tha Tiger" released Aug 15, and made Rs.33 crore on its opening day. It is now reportedly close to registering Rs.200 crore.

Salman, who has been giving hit films one after another with projects like "Wanted", "Dabangg" and "Bodyguard", says he is not here to set any records.

"I'm not setting any records. I am working on something day by day. I am concentrating on 'Dabangg 2' right now. I give my best at that point of time to whatever I am doing. If that comes across correctly, then these things (box office collections) follow," he added.

" Dabangg 2" is produced and directed by Arbaaz Khan.
