Meenakshi left for the Circuit House. As soon as she entered into the house, Irawati came up to her

'Kahan gayi thi Meenu?' she asked

Choti ma remembered the encounter she had with Anandi. She did not know if she should tell Ira about this, but what if Anandi mentioned about her visit?

The very thought made her slightly worried. It would not make her look in good light in front of her family.

'didi main Anandi kay school gayi thi' she said softly

'Anandi kay school!' said Irawati with her eyes reflecting pleasant surprise

'Anandi ko yahan le ker aa jathi thum meenu' she said

Meenakshi smiled half heartedly

'usko mandir jana tha didi tho maine usko lift diya tha' said Meenakshi

Irawati smiled and went into the kitchen and Meenakshi followed her

'ye acha kiya thumnay menu. Isi bahanay thumhay Anandi ko jannay ka acha mauka mil gaya' said Irawati

Meenakshi looked at irawati

'han didi, jan tho main achi tarah sey gayi hun usko' she said with a tinge of sarcasm hidden in her tone

Irawati turned around and looked at her questioningly

'kya hua meenu' she asked seriously

'didi aapko pata hai, Anandi ka pehla pati wapis aa gaya hai' she said

Irawati looked shocked.

Meenakshi waited for a response but when she got nothing out of irwati she continued

'maine ussey isi baray main ki'

Irawati's eyes grew wider with shock

'didi aapko pata hai usnay saaf inkaar ker diya aur kaha ki voh janthi nahi hai is baray main' said meenakshi

'aisa kaise ho saktha hai didi? pura jetsar gaon jantha hai aur voh, is gaon ki sarpanch hoker ye baat sey kaise anjaan ho sakthi hai?!

'Maine tho use saaf keh diya ki main nahi man-nthi ki voh nahi janthi' she continued

'voh bohot samajhdhar hai didi, humara shiv tho uskay pyar main andha hai aur voh ye nahi dekh pa raha hai ki , Anandi sey shadi kerkay voh kitni badi galathi ker saktha hai' she said

Irawati remained silent. She continued to listen to Meenakshi

'Kya pati ki yadon ki aise hi dil sey nikala ja saktha hai? aap hi sochiye didi ki agar voh us pati ko apnay dil sey nikal sakthi hai , 17 saal kai shadi kay baad , tho phir voh shiv ko puri tarah sey apna kaise payegi?'

'Shiv aur uski jaan pehchan hue abhi thoday mahinay hi hue hain. Voh uskay pyar kay saath insaaf nahi ker payegi' said Meenakshi with worry sketched on her face

'Iisliye main usey kaha ki abh bhi kuch bigad nahi gaya hai. Voh is baray main soch le'

' didi main sahih kiya na?' asked Meenakshi to irawati

Irawati who now had turned slightly red

'Nahi choti ma' came the thundering voice of Shiv.

Shiv had been listening to meenakshi's talk all this time.
Meenakshi turned around surprised and saw shiv and for the first time she understood why people were afraid of him. She had never seen him this angry before. He stood strongly on his ground with his fists clenched.

'Shiv..' said Meenakshi weekly

'Anandi ji ko nahi pata tha ki unkay pehlay pati wapis aa gaye hain! aur aapnay jaker bata diya!?

aapnay aisa kiyun kahan choti ma' he thundered

Meenakshi looked stunned.

'Agar aapko Anandi per bharosa nahi hai tho mujhper tho hona chahiye tha na. aapko maine kaha tha ki Anandi un ladkiyon main sey nahi hai jo apnay atteth main jeevan bitathi ..kaha tha na maine'

'Lekin shiv..' interrupted

'Anandi ki takleef aap nahi samaj sakthi ho choti ma. aap kya'hume sey koi bhi samajh nahi saktha lekin aapko samajhlena chahiye ki agar pura jetsar jantha hai aur Anandi ji nahi jaanthi tho iska matlab hai ki koi unko takleef nahi pahunchana chahtha'.

Meenakshi was in tears

'nahi ma, agar choti ma ko Anandi per bharosa nahi tha tho , mujh per tho kerthi. Meray pyar ko ithna kamzor kiyun dikha diya ...' said Shiv with his voice chocking

'Shiv ' beta voh thumhay sari khushiyan nahi de sakthi. Ithna asaan nahi hai purani yadon ko bhulana' said Choti ma

'Lekin main tho de saktha hun na. Choti ma Main Anandi sey pyar kertha hun. Kya aapko meray pyar ki koi Qadr nahi. aapnay meray baray main ek baar bhi nahi socha..' said Shiv

'Meenakshi looked as if air had been let out of her lungs

'maine jo kuch bhi kaha , voh thumharay liye kaha beta' she said with tears flowing through her eyes

'nahi, aapnay ye socha ki Anandi apnay pehlay pati ko nahi bhul sakthi kiyunki aap chotay papa ko nahi bhul payi' said Shiv

Meenakshi looked as if he had just slapped her

'Choti ma, chotay papa nay aapko chod ker kisi aur ladki sey shadi nahi ki. aapko Dhoka nahi diya. Balkay jithnay bhi din voh aapkay saath thay , voh kush thay'..

''.aap Anandi ki zindagi ko apnay aapsey kaise tulna ker sakthi hain?'he asked

'Chup ho jao Shiv' said irawati warningly

Shiv looked shocked at his own words. He the stormed out of the house angrily

Meenakshi looked devastated.

'Chup ho jao menu. Shiv nay gussay main kaha jo bhi kaha''she said

'aapnay suna didi. Anandi kay liye usnay aaj mujhsey muh pher liya hai' said Meenakshi

Irawati slightly caressed Meenakshi and took her to the living room

'Mana ki shiv nay awaz uncha kerkay galath kiya..lekin uski baat tho sachi thi na meenu. Agar thumhay Anandi per bharosa nahi tha tho ye alag baat hai lekin , Shiv per tho bharosa kerna chahiye tha na.

Anandi abh kya sochegi ki thum vohi keh rahi ho jo Shiv kay dil main hain. Kya voh Shiv ko galat nahi samjhegi?' asked irawati

Meenakshi looked at irawati and then looked away
