Shiv stormed out of the house and went into the Garden.

He looked at the place and then remembered how Anandi was standing there right besides him just day before yesterday.

Why did Choti Ma do this? he thought to himself

Its your own fault Shiv. If you would have been a bit more louder about this matter and put your foot down that no one is to interfere in your matters this would never happened' he reasoned

But his entire family was happy. They all welcomed Anandi. He did not expect this. What will Anandi think about him? Will she also think that I do not trust her? Will she leave me?

Thoughts began to pour out of Shiv's mind. He started pacing front and back in the garden. Just then a hand touched his shoulders.

Shiv turned around and it was that of Choti Ma's

'Shiv looked at her and all the words that she was saying about Anandi came flooding in his mind. He took one look at her and then left from the garden.

Shiv jumped into his jeep and started the ignition, when Choti Ma appeared once again.

'Mujhe bhi le chalo shiv' she said

Shiv did not look at her but he agreed. Meenakshi got on the jeep and Shiv left with her. He headed straight towards the mandir, hoping to catch Anandi and to explain to her, that he never had doubted her for one single moment.

Through out the way, there was only one thing in his mind, to convince Anandi.

Meenakshi threw furtive looks at Shiv hoping to catch his eye but it was of no use. Shiv simply did not look at his Choti Ma. She wanted to go with Shiv and meet Anandi.

Once they reached the Mandir, Shiv parked his jeep and headed towards the stairs with Meenakshi.

'Jagya '' said Anandi

'Han Anandi main wapis aa gaya hun' said Jagya

Anandi looked at the state of Jagya. What had happened to him , she thought to herself

'ye kya ho gaya jagya thumhay?'she asked with concern in her voice

Here choti Ma and Shiv had reached the top and they saw Jagya and Anandi together. Shiv looked a bit shocked and Meenakshi was now sternly watching him.

Shiv walked towards the end of the floor and watched them without making his presence known.

'Anandi main wapis aa gaya hun'

'Aur main maafi mangnay aya hun' said Jagya

Listening to this Anandi's eyes started streaming with tears

'Main athay hi thumsey milnay wala tha lekin kisi main mujhe thumsey milnay hi nahi diya. Bapusa , Dadisa sabnay mujhe dhakay mar ke ghar sey nikal diya Anandi' he complained

Anandi remained silent

'Lekin, leking main abh aa gaya hun aur, us gauri sey saray rishtay thod ker aa gaya hun' he said

Anandi looked SHOCKED at his words.

'han Anandi, gauri nay mujhe bohot bada dhoka diya. Usnay meray bholaypan ka bohot faida utaya, ghar walon kay khilaf kiya 'mujhe pata hi nahi chala tha Anandi' he said

'lekin abh main sabh jan gaya hun' aur maine use chod diya hai'Anandi please mujhe maaf kerdo. Agar thum maaf nahi karogi tho gharwalay mujhe kabhi bhi nahi apnayengay' he pleaded

Anandi looked on stunned

'Anandi please, main jantha hun meri wajay sey thumnay bohot dukh jhelnay paday lekin'main abh apni galthiyon ko jan gaya hun'Anandi please mujeh maaf kerdo. Sirf thum hi ho jo mujhe maaf ker sakthi ho. Anandi 'mujhe meray ghar walay wapis de do''

Anandi looked stunned at his statement

'Apni galthiyon ko jan gaye ho thum?' she said in a slow voice

' konsi galthi jagya?

'Meray saath 17 saal bithayen hain voh galthi ? kiyun ki thum hi nay kaha tha na ki main thumharay bachpan ki galthi hun'

Jagya shook his head

'nahi.. Anandi''

Anandi then put her hand out indicating him to stop. There was anger in her eyes that made Jagya step back

'kis galthi ki thum maafi mangnay aaye ho jagya? kya gauri nay thumhay kaha tha ussey jhoot bolay ki thumhari shadi nahi hui hai? She asked angrily

Jagya looked at Anandi with despair

'kya gauri nay thumhay kaha tha , Court main jaker, jhoot bolker shadi karay? Kay gauri nay thumhay kaha tha ki dadusa ki akhiri nishani ko bechker , ek chaprasi sey apna kaam nikalwaye?' said Anandi

'Kis galthi ki maafi maang rahe ho thum jagya.?'

'Apnay kiye ko gauri sey sar math dalo jagya..'

'Man manthi hun ki gauri nay thumhay behkaya parivar kay khilaf janay ke liye, lekin voh tho parayi hai na jagya, voh tho nahi janthi thumharay parivar ko'lekin thumhay kya hua tha jagya'?

'kya thumharay kadam nahi ladkhadayen jab thumnay mujhey talaq denay ke liye ye sharth rakha ki voh thumhay jaydaad main hissa de?

'Thumnay jagya, apni Dadisa, Bapusa , Ma kisii ka bhi lihaaz nahi kiya , gauri nay nahi.

Apnay ghal walon ka apmaan thumnay kiya tha jagya Gauri nay nahi'

'kin kin galathiyon ki maafi maang rahe ho jagya thum? aur aaj' thum wohi galathi dhohra rahe ho'jo thumnay meray saath kiya'.

'Gauri ko chod ker'.thumnay ye sabit kerdiya ki thumsey bada swarthy insaan is duniya main koi ho hi nahi saktha' said Anandi Angrily

Jagya looked shocked at this statement

'Maine thumsey kaha tha na, kaha tha na ki , Jo thumnay meray saath kiya, voh Gauri kay saath kabhi nahi kerna?' said Anandi

Jagya rememembered their encounter at the shed where ANandi told Jagya not to repeat his doings

'Gauri ko aaj thumnay isiliye chod diya hai kiyunki thumharay hisaab sey voh thumharay liye layak nahi rahi. Jis tarah main thumharay liye layak nahi thi aur thumnay mujeh chod diya tha gauri ke liye'.

Jagya uski galathiyon ko maaf kernay kay bajaye thumnay ussey rishtha thod diya? akhir thum apnay aap ko samajhthay kya ho jagya?

jab man kaiya rishta bana liya aur jab man kiya unhay apnay pairon talay kuchal diya?

'Nahi jagya, main thumnay maaf nahi ker sakthi. Ek aurat honay kay naathay main gauri ka dard samajh sakthi hun. Voh bhi usi peeda say guzar rahi hogi jissey main guzri thi aur jagya, uska karan bhi thum hi ho.

Thum yahan sey chalay jao'.' said Anandi turning herself away from him

Anandi please meri baat suno ' pleaded jagya

'Anandi , gauri nay dhokha diya tha mujhe' said Jagya

'Pleaes Anandi mujhe maaf kerdo warna main kahin ka nahi rahunga'bilkul akela pad jaunga Anandi please' Dekho main thumhay abh chod ker kabhi nahi jaunga' said Jagya

'Anandi then turned around angrily

'Jagya meri sagayi ho chuki hai aur kabhi bhi ye sochnay ki galathi nahi kerna ki main thumharay paas wapis aaungi.

Jagya agar meri sagayi nahi bhi hui hothi tabh bhi main thumharay paas nahi aathi. Ek aurat ko dokha main kabhi nahi de sakthi said Anandi angrily

Lekin humnay 17 saal bitayen hai Anandi, thum mujhe bhul kaise sakthi ho said Jagya desperately

'jis tarah thum bhul gaye thay mujhe jagya, Waise main rishton ki ahmiyat janthi hun. Shiv meray aaj hai aur thum mera beetha hua kal.

Shiv aise insaan hai jo na hi dusron ka dard samajhthay hain balkay unko rishton ka mol kerna bhi aatha hai. Main unkay saath kabhi bhi na insaafi nahi ker sakthi. ' said Anandi

'Behtar yahi hoga ki thum abh yaahn sey chale jao' she said angrily

Just as she turned she noticed Dadisa, Basant, Bhairav and Gehna standing at the door step

Dadisa walked slowly towards the mandir and went besides Anandi. She looked at her and caressed her hair. Anandi was in tears watching her family besides her

Dadisa, Dadisa main Anandi sey yahan maafi mangnay aya tha' mujhe please ek mauka de dijiye' mujhe kuch nahi chahiye aur kuch bhi nahi chahiye'said Jagya desperately

'Tauji please , tayiji mujhe maaf ker dijiye' continued jagya pleading

Just then Dadisa smacked him on his face

'Ke kaha tha tunay jagdeesh! ki Anandi tharay paas wapis aa jave? she asked angrily

'Jagya stammered

'maine kaha tha na maasa.. ye insaan kabhi bhi Anandi ki kushi nahi chah saktha. Aaaj Anadni kush hai shiv kay saath, aur ye usko ek aankh nahi bha raha hai.. isiliye abh yahan aa gaya hai' aur apni asliyat dikha gaya' said Basant angrily

'Bapusa mera ye matlab nahi tha please mujhe maaf ker dijiye' said Jagya

'Jagdeesh, maine thumhay samjhaya tha ki Anandi kay saath jo tunay kiyo uskay liye tharay ko kabhi maafi nahi milegi aur phir aaj thunay vahi kiyo.

Phir aa gayo mhaari pothi kay jeevan main aag laganay ke liye.' said Dadisa with pained voice

'Chala ja Jagdeesh , chala ja thari jharoorath yahan kisiii ko na hai' ' said Dadisa

Jagya looked at everyone. There was no hope left for him. All his family had turned their backs away from him.

He stammered and took few steps back and turned away '.

As soon as he disappeared behind the steps Anandi hugged Dadisa and cried.

'Mujeh maaf kerday chori' jagdeesh kay baray main tharay ko nahi bataya. Thujhe dukhi nahi dekhna chahthi thi main ' said Dadisa

Shiv had tears in his eyes and as he realized their presence he wiped them off and turned to look at Meenakshi

Meenakshi's expression reflected guilt. Shiv's sad face once again turned into anger and without a word he left towards his jeep followed by Choti Ma
