SOTY actor bags two-film-deal with Balaji?

Ekta Kapoor calls Karan, signs SOTY newbie Siddharth Malhotra for her banner

Very few newcomers have had it better. Even before his debut film, Student of the Year directed by Karan Johar, hits the silver screen, Sidharth Malhotra has been signed on for a two film deal by Balaji Motion Pictures' head honcho Ekta Kapoor.

A source told Mirror,"Ekta saw the rushes of the SOTY promo and loved what she saw of Sidharth's performance. She got in touch with Karan to seek his opinion on him. Karan too was all praises for him."

It's been something of a dream run for Sidharth, who was an assistant director in Karan's My Name Is Khan till KJo spotted him and cast him as one of the lead actors in SOTY.

According to the source,"A meeting was arranged between Ekta and Siddharth. A quick chat later, he was roped in for the two-film deal, which is non-exclusive in case Siddharth wishes to work with some other production house as well."

Ekta remained unavailable for comment.
