TRUTH BE TOLD- CHAPTER 13

Arnav hugged her once more and started walking towards his door when he stopped and came back to anjali. He kneeled down and placed his head on her lap.

Arnav: I love u di, thanku for being so strong for me. I wont let anything wrong happen. Hmm' I love u!

Anjali: I LOVE YOUTUBE. *she said as fast as she cud*

Arnav knew she was trying to lighten the mood. Whenever arnav didn't want to respond to her 'I love u chotey' he wud say ' I love u youtube' as fast as he cud making it sound like 'I love u too' just to annoy anjali.

He got up from the sitting position smiling and went to have a serious chat with his dad.

Events that happened between 12 pm to 3 30 pm

AT GH!

Khushi wass in her room packing when her mom came.

Garima: all done with the packing love?

Khushi: ji maa! Just a little bit left, im so confused what to take what not to.

Garima: oh so ur worried about what to wear, I thought my daughter was a boy and she never even gave a second thought to what she wore' is it bcoz of someone special.??

Khushi tells her mom everything so obviously she told her she was going on a 'business trip' with arnav 'company' but her mom failed to understand that. What khushis brain failed to understand was that why was she so worried about her clothes, her moms right she couldn't care less to what to wear and now with all the clothes scattered on her bed she stood clueless.

Khushi: mom how many times do I have to tell u it's a business trip, so im keeping my clothes according to that.

Khushis wardrobe is full of designer and fashionable clothes, although she never gave herself any credit but she was afterall affiliated with the bollywood industry and on top of that she was a creative person. Excluding the days when she was in a 'inspiration mode' when she looks for ideas khushi always looks good and sane!

Garima: ok baba here let me help u with the packing.

After the packing was done which took just 20 minutes thanks to her mothers help now was the time to decide what to wear. She didn't have much time to waste. Their flight was at 6 pm and it was 3 30 now. And she was supposed to pick up payal. She wore a black jumpsuit paired with a plain silver Armani blazer. She looked all business like and the jumpsuit was also comfortable for travel.

Khushi: ok ma im leaving, see u soon muah.

She hugged and kissed her and when she opened the door she a nicely dressed woman in a manish malhotra saree. The woman was in her early fifties and was drop dead gorgeous. She had molten brown eyes which reminded khushi of arnav.

Anahita: may I come in beta?

Khushi: oh im so sorry aunty' yes please come in. MOM U HAVE A VISITOR. *khushi shouted*

Anahita: u must be khushi right?

Khushi: ji aunti, please have a seat *khushi took her towards the living room*

Anahita couldn't take her eyes off khushi, the black complimented her skin and she looked like an angel but in black. Her milky white skin was glowing against the black cloth and the silver blazer and rlex watch in her hand made her look more million dollars.

Anahita: khushi, u look beautiful beta.

'this aunti is conversing with me as if she knows me since childhood, maybe shes just trying to be sweet by complimenting' ' khushi thought.

Khushi: thanku so much aunti, im so sorry but I have a flight to catch so I wont be able to sit and chat with u and mom.

Anahita: oh its ok, I don't mean to hold u, my sons already very impatient to meet u.

Khushi: excuse me?

Anahita: im arnavs mom.

Khushi: oh'i.. I didn't recognize u sorry.

Anahita: its ok u have never met me darling.

Garima: who is it khushiii'.. *long pause* ANU!!!

Anahita: imi how r u?

Garima ran and engulfed anahita in a bear hug and khushi was shocked to see her mom react like that.

Garima: how have I been!! U GOT TIME NOW TO ASK ME THAT AFTER TEN YEARS.

Anahita: im so sorry imi please forgive me.

Both the women started crying and khushi couldn't help but notice the longing in anahitas eyes, pain, guilt, restlessness but whenever she looked at khushi, khushi felt her eyes became at ease, as if a silent approval to something. Sure they were beautiful but not like arnavs more like akashs.

Khushi: mom, aunty ill take ur leave now. Bubye.

Garima & anahita: bye beta.

Khushi left the house and anahita turned towards garima.

Anahita: I have so much to tell u.

With that she emptied her hand bag and what garima saw left her eyes popping out like saucers.

AT RM

Arnav knocked his dads study room.

Arnav: dad may I come in?

Rishab: come in son.

Arnav: dad I want to talk to u…. its something very important.

Rishab was going through files and simultaneously listening to arnav.

Rishab: hmm, im listening.

Arnav: dad I said its important… its about me and khushi

Rishab closed his file angrily and glared at arnav.

Rishab: again this topic. What now arnav?

He turned his back to arnav and stood facing towards the window which had a view to their pool area.

Arnav: dad its about me, khushi and…… and… RODGER.

That one name sent shivers down rishabs spine, how did arnav know, who told him, what does he know. So many questions came in his mind but he did not have the strength to turn back and look in his sons eyes.

MEANWHILE

Anahita came home and saw arnav walk towards his fathers study and anjali descend the stairs.

Anjali: maa ur home early today *anjali said with full disgust*

Anahita: yes im not feeling well anji.

Anjali: ok *she left with a stern face but her mothers later words angered her*

Anahita: anjali could u please make me the kava u make for arnav when he has a headache.

'why is this woman asking me to do anything for her when she herself never did anything for me and my chote' – anjali thought

Anjali: ill tell hp.

She said that and went, anahita couldn't take this any longer. If not her kids she had to tell her husband the truth, her rishab would understand her and now it was high time. she walked towards rishabs study to get the shock of her life.

When she came near rishabs door she heard Rodgers name and froze at that point. The study had glass doors and anahita could see her husband stiffen. What came later was even a bigger shock.

1. Arnav hired a detective

2. He knew all about rodger

3. He knew how shashi dies

4. He knew why his family wants arnav to marry khushi

5. He wanted to protect khushi

6. He believed his father and had immense trust in him

7. Some – ARNAV, KHUSHI, PAYAL, AKASH- triangle

which took both anahita and rishab time to register in their brains.

Anahita knew one thing, she couldn't be more proud of her son then she was now but why didn't her son believe her or trust her or tried to find answers from her. It wasn't arnavs fault she thought. She never went close to the kids specially when they needed her. She decided to go somewhere else before confronting rishab, he had already heard a lot today. She went to meet garima.

Rishab had mixed emotions on his face. He was scared, proud, happy, confused, sad and many more things. Proud of his son, scared for his kids, happy that he no more wud have to hide anything and sad bcoz his wife was not with him through all this when he needed her the most.

Rishab: I am with u arnav, through all ur decisions. I trust u my son.

Arnav: thanku dad. It feels so good after talking to u. I promise u I will handle everything and all will be fine soon.

Rishab: amen!

Arnav left his fathers with a light heart and saw his mother running down the stairs crying. He didn't have time to stop her but whatever it was hurt arnav too, after all she was his mother.

*msg from khushi*

'going to pick payal in 15! Meet u at the airport'

Khushi, this name had some magic in it… everytime he saw that name on his phones screen he smiled like a Cheshire cat. It was time to spend some quality time with his wife to be in London, arnavs favorite place and he knew exactly how to keep khuhsi close to him 24/7.

Events that happened between 12 pm to 3 30 pm

PAYALS APPARTMENT

Payal had called NK to get the truth out of him.

Now she knew all except for the part that akash liked her too. Due to arnavs stict instruction he did not tell payal that. HIS BEST FRIEND THE BIGGEST SECRETE OF HER LIFE.

Well Nk trusted arnav, he knew arnav would sort it out soon.

Payal: so ur coming with us too.

NK: hmm..

Payal: done with the packing?

Nk: yup, u?

Payal: nope.

After a long silence this was all they could talk about and NK left payals place to go back to RM, meanwhile payal pondered over everything that NK had told her.

While driving payals words came running back to nk's mind

*flash back*

Nk: why r U doing it peej?

Payal: nk do u remember how khushi always took care of me, I was sensitive, girlie, pampered by my parents. I had both a father and a mother. Where as khushi was strong, had just lost her father yet took all the responsibilities on her shoulder. The time I shud have been there for her it went the other way round. When I shudve consoled her it went the other way round. Her problem was important and I was just fussing. So now its my turn, no im not repaying back to her, im palying my character as a best friend. Im not going to back down NOW!

*flashback ends*

They had matured so much in their friendship and this is what I will cherish all my life!! - NK thought
