I'm respecting him more and more as both as an actor and a person with each passing day:
Since he is so ill right now, I just wanted to list this down.
Times when I have felt insanely proud of Kushal:
- when he shaved his head for the demands of the script, as well as to support the cause of cancer WITHOUT any tantrums. He did it wholeheartedly as clear in his interviews at the time. And he did it live for the world to see.
- when he provided someone unfortunate with the comforts of his home only to be betrayed And even then, did not let this get in the way of his work.
- when his acting skills improve day by day, particularly in emotional scenes. Him, along with Nia, can get me crying any second in any one of the cancer side effects scenes and even recently when he is alone and considers the possibility of Manvi's future.
- when you know there is nothing fake about his interviews. Like him or not, he is who he is. And I am so glad he does not pretend to be someone he's not when he's interviewed.
And now,
- when he does not complain on sets despite being ill and simply shoots and sits with a blanket in between takes.
- when none of his scenes give away how serious his illness is (did not for a second today think anything was wrong with him)
I'm sure there's more but it's midnight and I can't fall asleep right now. Plus the latest update on his health has me worried
