I can understand taking sides in a movie. There is a definite hero and a villain. However, if the pov is shifted, you will find the hero and villain exchanging places. How many of us know that Ravan was a just king who was a great connoiseur of music with great knowledge of the shastras. And how many of us remember that Ram asked his wife to pass through fire to test her chastity and later banished her to the forests based on the words of one of his subjects. If we took specific instances in isolation, who would be the hero and who would be the villain?

All of us rant and rave about how Ashutosh threw Nidhi out of his home at midnight. And all of us pounce on KPji for daring to point out that our beloved God did something similar. No, he was not making a sacrilegous comment. He was merely pointing out that we accept many things because we have been taught to accept them. We have learnt to look at the Ramayana as a larger epic and not look at Ram's act of banishing Sita in isolation. And yet, we are only looking at the smaller picture when it comes to other things. I have been guilty of this crime too. But I am wondering why we are judging two writers by different yardsticks. What is our problem with imperfections and flaws?

This is a love story. This implies that there are two protagonists. Both of them make mistakes and learn from them as they go through the process of life. So, why are we so judgmental on one and rush to the defence of the other? Why can't we just watch this as a show, watch the characters make their mistakes and learn to resolve them.

This post is not intended to offend anyone. Only to say that can we please practice a little more tolerance and not spew venom simply because India Forums has given us an outlet?

Forgive me if I have hurt anyone despite my best efforts!

Certainly will, Mudra...putting yourself in the best shoes in one thing...and spewing venom is another thing...and am sorry but the amount of venom that i have encountered here in the last few days is something I have not seen even in real life!

I am guessing.. more are more members are encouraged to be vocal..
IF is a great platform of people from all walks of life to write without the fear of ridicule..

We have seen some members blossom into such beautiful writers...
I prefer looking at it as.. more people are vocal because.. more people fall in love with KTLK each day...

We love are characters and treat them as friends... hence we get angry, we gossip about them... yet me love them to no end..

sujata ji good post, but as a woman i can feel this serial like my thought, and i personally attached with the characters.and for writers concerned they had a responsibility on their shoulder to give some good messages.and about the mythological touch i ever seen in the ramayan and read that ravan was the most gyani and talented.but he only done one mistake by kidnapping sita, but that's too have reasons.i don't want to go in deep.and this forum is for exchange of thought and for healthy disscussion.and in some topic you get agree and some topic not.so this is a source of know the persons and their vivid povs.

Harshal...you will have to start correcting half the forum then...because i am not the one saying AShu threw her out...most people here have been saying just that and i was merely quoting them..

And we are entitled to root for characters that we like...but at the cost of spewing venom on the show and denigrating the other chaaracters...I don't think that is ciivilized...even differences can be expressed in civil and polite language...I am personally very disturbed by the surge of negativity over the last couple of days...and hence my post...

Again, like I said, this is just my pov!
