It was shocking to see Renu forging the cheque. Even more shocking was to see Sanjay being party to it. :-(
In the same episode they showed Mohan purchasing a new refrigerator using zero interest EMI offers. Megha is obviously uncomfortable with this additional loan purchase given that Mohan has a big credit card bill pending
By showing these two behaviors in the same episode, what is it that cv's are now bringing in? Are they only bringing in financial matters? Or they want to introduce a twist by bringing in tussle over money between MM or between Ved and Renu - Sanjay or between Vyas's and Bhatnagar's ? There is much more to this track than a mere financial tussle. If they bring in only that much, then, well it will only show poverty of minds.
Let me explain what I have on my mind, ever since the Amar's fd money was handed over to Vyas papaji and Mohan's credit card spending became known to Megha.
As far as Mohan's credit card bill + emi shopping goes, all I think is that the shopping must be for Mangalsutra, engagement ring for Megha and 2 expensive saries. He doesn't seem to have spent on anything other than this.
I understand after working for so many years he has no savings. But generally single men don't bother about it. On top of it Mohan has to pay for all the expenses of 2 people, house rent. Many single men who live with their parents get these things for almost free hence; they are able to save money.
There is one more part, which is largely forgotten by the cv's, is that, Mohan also must have paid for his medical expenses after the gunshot. :-(
As he was seriously injured while on duty; ideally, the bills should have been borne by his employer, Prabhat Laher. But based on the big MU conversation between Ved papji and Mohan; while Mohan was on his hospital bed, made me think that probably Mohan has to bare the expenses personally. Neither was it mentioned by Prerna nor Karan nor Guru / Indu that PL, shall look after the hospital expenses.
Neither Mohan seems to have any medical insurance plan with any accident coverage for situation such that he is a crime reporter. He is in the high risk of accidental injuries category, so difficult to get an insurance coverage unless he or his employer pays a higher premium.
We all seem to be sure that Mohan will not take money from his father and hence Indu to settle the hospital bills. It means, this man has paid for life threatening gunshots + 1 Magalsutra + 1 wedding ring and at least two expensive sari's in the past 3 months. That is quiet a big hole in the pocket!
Given the fact that he is working for a newspaper in a small town, the paper which is going through some bad patch currently, Mohan is likely to be earning around Rs. 30,000/- to a maximum of Rs. 45,000/- per month. Given that he is living away from his parents, arranging for house rent for all these years and taking care of expenses on Guru - whom he has given a decent mobile phone and it is never without adequate balance. I am therefore not surprised if Mohan has that kind of credit card bill pending, after all the expences he has incurred in the past 2 - 3 months.
This man went and purchased a fridge worth Rs. 20,000/- or Rs 23,000/- on zero interest EMI's . I had a mixed feeling to see that. I wanted to scold Monu Beta for increasing the debt burden. Yes, indeed I hate it if one is going on a spending spree, using a credit card when clearly you don't know where the money to pay the bill is going to come from?
It is an unwise thing to do. And Mohan Bhatnagar, can make mistakes, he can be impulsive, he can get into trouble, but he is not unwise. He cannot be UNWISE. Mohan fan in me is so sure of that and shall be angry on cv's to have shown Mohan as an unwise person.
At the same time I was touched to see this man, Mohan Bhatnagar, who has found a new family in Megha and her kids, to have used the emi credit facility to purchase the fridge and not to buy a small outing package for him and Megha. Even in his spending spree, well-being of his family, his home was a priority, and not His Personal Pleasures. I was touched by that.
We all know even tourist companies offer emi based tours. If Mohan indeed was a self centered careless spender he would have bought the honey moon package instead of buying that yellow sari or fridge.
But Mohan Bhatnagar did not do that.
This man suddenly got a family, a responsibility of two kids and their mother. Everyone has high hopes (Oops!!! hopes or expectations?) from him.
Is it so that for some extra darling people, marriage brings in only the responsibility?, without any support, or praise, or acceptance from the family? Is it so that some people are only to be under scrutiny always?
Mohan Bhatnagar seems to be getting just the scrutiny, expectations and responsibilities. Did he so far get anything else from his marriage? Answer is a Big No.
Okay now, after writing all this I am feeling a lot less angry. Please feel free to comment and express your POV.
Thanks for reading this long post.
