Shah Rukhs Concert Crowd Makes Serial Stars Day

By a strange coincidence , when the king of big screen Shah Rukh Khan was performing for New York based promoter Bharat Jotwani in Atlantic City to a sold out arena , popular TV serial actor Anuj Saxena ( Abhay of popular TV serial Kkusum) was shooting for New York based producer S. Khimanis Lips on the Boardwalk , not very far from Shah Rukh Khan show . The audience , before going into Shah Rukh show mobbed Anuj for autographs . Certainly an added bonus for the money they spent for the show .

Thanks to Shah Rukh Khan and his fans Anuj can now say " Main Bhi Hoon Na !"

Bollywood legends honored and feted at Atlantic City

Led by 81-year-old actor director and producer Dev Anand, some of the most adored figures of Hindi cinema were feted and honored at a show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Nov. 20. Kamal Dandona, whose Bollywood Group organized the show, described it as phenomenal in terms of people's response.

All of them got standing ovations, with Dev Anand getting the longest one, Dandona told News India-Times.

'Legends With The Next Generation' honored Dev Anand, Vyjayanthimala, Zeenat Aman, Jeetendra, Helen, Padmini, Feroz Khan, Moushumi Chatterjee, Prem Chopra, and the late Kishore Kumar, Mehmood and Ajit, Dandona said.

"We took new young stars and had them perform to the works of the legends. Neha Dhupia looked gorgeous as she danced to Moushumi Chatterjee's numbers.

Moushumi Chatterjee looked as beautiful as she did in her hey-day when she went up on stage. Bipasha Basu was at her sexy best as Helen and the crowd loved seeing Helen after so many years.

Pakistani beauty Reema danced to Vyjayanthimala's classics and had the audience in complete awe. Vyjayanthimala was gracious and striking as she addressed her fans, he said.

Aftab Shivdasani, after his comedic hits of 'Hungama' and 'Masti,' was the optimal choice to perform as the comedic great Mehmood.

The evening took a particularly poignant turn when Mehmood's widow, Nancy Ali, came up to the podium teary-eyed to thank her late-husband's fans for their love. Tusshar Kapoor gyrated to his father's numbers in Jeetendra's trademark white pants and shirt, Dandona said.

Bhoomika Chawla had the audience on their feet as she danced to Zeenat Aman's titillating dance numbers. Aman said she was amazed that she was being honored on the same night as her mentor, Dev Anand.

Dino Morea drove the women, old and young, wild, as he danced to Dev Anand's numbers, Dandona said.

Among the others honored were legendary singer, actor, music composer and director Kishore Kumar, actor Prem Chopra and actress Padmini. TV superstars Anuj Saxena, Sameer Soni, Kashmira Shah and many more also performed at the show.

"The overwhelmingly wonderful response was quite unexpected to be completely honest. I knew the event was a different venture going into it but I believed in it, and, sure enough, the crowds turned out to see the stars that they grew up adoring and to have a nostalgic evening," Dandona said.

The show drew fans from the Tri-state area of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut to Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal and Casino.

fanz. who anxioiusly waited till the Bollywood Legends with the next
generation ended. Fanz of Anuj ran as they saw Anuj leaving..Anuj
waited till each and every fan got an autograph..
well.. i did get autograph of him and i'll put up the autograph in
this group very soon
well.. he just looked amazing and fanz were all over him.. up to my
knowledge he signed 1000's of autographs
well.. the event was great itself...
and anuj's presence made it little more intense and curiousity

Kkusum's Abhay (Anuj Saxena) performed live on a medley of Bollywood numbers which included Ai Bhai Jara Dekh Ke Chalo, Om Shanti Om and Keh Do Tumhe at the Legends of Bollywood show at the Mark G Etess Arena in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino, Atlantic City, US, recently. His performance was a tribute to Bollywood's Kapoor khandaan.

Other performers included Dino Morea, Aftab Shivdasani, Tushaar Kapoor and Samir Soni, Bipasha Basu, Neha Dhupia, Bhumika Chawla and Pakistani actress Reema. The promos of Sameer Malkan's film Lips which stars Anuj were also aired.

'It was a privilege to be invited to perform at The Legends show in the presence of so many veteran actors. The response I got was superb. It gave me a big high. I am confident I am going to make it big in Bollywood," says Anuj. We will wait and watch.
