Khushi:The Weakest IPK Character- A Debate

Yesterday i had this wonderful debate with @Rima on what's redemption and the difference between Redemption and guilt and some other very interesting things. You guys should check out her thread. Its awesome.

Anyway the reason i brought up that thread was because after having a wondeful debate and reading some very nice responses i realised how weak the characterization of Khushi has been.

She was a happy go lucky girl with a will to live to her fullest. She was the girl who made jelabis when things were at their very worst. She was the girl who stood up for what she thought was right. That was the girl i LOVED and related to.

Now we have a fool of a girl who gets treated like a scrap of meat. No fighting spirit and no self respect. What the hell kind of lead is that?

The TRPs didnt go down because the leads lost chemistry nor did it go down because Barun left for his movie. It went down because the CV made a mockery of the female lead.

I want the heart and soul of IPK back. I want Khushi Kumari Gupta.

I want the girl who said Baad mai gaye aap or baad mai gaye aapki naukri.

I want the girl who seldom cried and made me live life a little better.

I dont want this Mother teresa clone without a spine.

I could not agree more! Khushi was such a STRONG person in the start of the show,and even up to the time of the kidnapping!

i think for the story of ASR & Anjali to sell they have twisted Khushi for theirconvenience - but the audience turned out to be intelligent & the trps went down

These days i cant even feel sorry for her. Because i bearly relate to her Lets play God attitude.

I dont mind focus on Arnav. I love Arnav and Khushi. But why ruin Khushi's character for that?

Let me add a bit more from another view...

If you see some other show's leads... They portrait the female lead more stronger with dignity and at least with some consistency in the character..

What we have? When khushi char came she was full of life with her strong personality, her morals, fighting spirits along with other nice features...

But after marriage CVs intentionally ruined this character/role .. feeling pity for sanaya a lot..
That is the only reason Sanaya is not being even nominated for the main lead category any more.. Its the reality.. CVs made the strongest character of IPK the weakest one...
If you just went through all the characters of IPK she has the most inconsistent role to play..

As she already mentioned somewhere for khushi they dont even need to think as she can do anything

No this is not the way A lead character supposed to be...
They have ruined it.. I dont know whether they can again put it all together back or not..

Wonderful post and exactly my thought. KKG is the backbone of IPK and the CVs ruined her character completely. I started watching this soap for Khushi ONLY because I had the impression( from the promos ofcourse) that this story is about this free spirited, righteous,brave girl and the man of her dream. Later the CVs decided to turn this beautiful M & B story into DKS and butchered Khushis character.
I agree this is the reason for TRP drop. It's difficult to watch her constantly getting humiliated, used, abused by people around her. It's gets annoying after some time. Yeah of course she loves Arnav but not to forget she has tremendous self respect( well she did have it till feb this year)and she cannot/should not accept injustice towards her. Enough of other people hating her and making her suffer. It's high time for Khushi to initiate hatred from her side. It's high time for her to be happy, cherished and loved by her loved ones for a change. Not because she needs it but she deserves it.

I completely agree with you, She's not the same anymore I blame all of this on LM leave to tell you the truth the show has lost it's charm ever since the Holli episode. Even ASR character is ruined. The only person that is true to there character is Shyam.

Yes...as of now it is...She always told these small lies, and always tried to play God. She always felt that she knew best for everyone...but we were ok with it...but now its getting on my nerves...she is still lying and still feeling that she knows best for everyone...but something is missing...People say why doesnt she stand up to dadi etc...but she has never stood up to elders...she always obeys them...the only person she fought with and stood up to was ASR...so she continues to listen to whatever anyone says, and then feels bad and cries...

Skipping hindi parts agree with your post to some extend not fully.
I don't agree with you on Khushi the weakest character. Well, I believe Anjali was and is the weakest of them all. Khushi is nothing close to being weakest she is the strongest of them all sometimes even stronger than ASR!

for God's sake peole... it was a hate track back then and we have a love track right now...
