Salman Khan’s longtime bodyguard, Shera, lost his father, Sunder Singh Jolly, on August 7 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 88. The final rites were held at Oshiwara Crematorium in Jogeshwari West. On Sunday, Shera hosted a prayer meet at a gurudwara, which saw several personalities arriving to pay their respects.

Among them was Bobby Deol, who was seen in a video greeting Shera with a warm hug and a quiet word of support. The short exchange, captured on camera, reflected the bond and empathy shared within the industry during moments of personal loss.

Earlier in the day, Mannara Chopra was spotted at the venue, offering her condolences. A few days ago, Salman Khan himself had visited Shera’s residence to meet the grieving family. In a video shared widely online, the actor was seen embracing his bodyguard in a moment that spoke volumes about their decades-long association.

Shera born Gurmeet Singh Jolly confirmed the news of his father’s passing through a brief social media post, writing, “My father Shri Sunder Singh Jolly has left for heavenly abode today.” Just months earlier, he had posted a picture from his father’s 88th birthday, calling him “my hero” and “my inspiration.” The funeral procession had started from Shera’s home at The Park Luxury Residences in Oshiwara.

Known for his imposing presence beside Salman Khan at almost every public appearance, Shera has been a constant in the actor’s life since the early 1990s. Before entering the security industry, he enjoyed a successful stint as a bodybuilder. Through his firm, Tiger Security, Shera has also handled protection for a host of Bollywood stars including Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, as well as global names such as Mike Tyson and Justin Bieber.

While the prayer meet remained a solemn occasion, the attendance of colleagues and friends underscored the network of support Shera has built over the years. For many, the sight of Salman and Bobby stepping in to share his grief was a reminder that professional relationships in the film industry can also carry deep personal connections.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is set to begin work on Battle of Galwan, portraying Colonel B. Santosh Babu in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming project, scheduled to start filming in Ladakh later this month.
