In the history of Olympics if the name Michael Phelps is not mentioned, then the term Olympics just seem to be incomplete. And I just thought with him making history after the London 2012 Olympics that he deserved a thread of this own, separate from the combined Olympic thread. This athlete has so much to be proud of. He stands at 22 overall Olympic medals. With the break down that is: 18 Gold, 2 Silver, & 2 Bronze. He is an all round champion in his sport of swimming. No one has as many medals as this hunk! At the age of 27 this guy has accomplished so much in his career. Hard work surely does pay off at the end.

It is so sad seeing this Olympic champion bidding farewell to the Olympic games. There will never be another Phelps and his presence in the games will truly be missed. Only a miracle can bring him back. I would love to see him back in Rio. Phelps in his interviews seems pretty confident that he is done with competing. I only hope that is not true and that is is back next time.

This guy deserves a lot of appreciation from his fans, fellow team mates, and people all around the world. I mean even if you dislike him, you have to give this guy credit for what he has been able to accomplish since a very young age. So what are you all waiting for? I know a lot of you are from the US and just can't resist this handsome hunk and world champion! So use this thread to show your love, appreciation, support, good wishes, etc for the one and only Michael Phelps!

you just dono how much i love this guy... frm 2004 iv been watching watching swimming only for this guy.. i pray when he races 😳 i had tears in my eyes when i saw his last race... his career came to an end in an awesome way...

he defo needs appreciation...👏 what a career... just cnt even imagine...

Thank you so much for this post.

I love Phelps. He is a truly the greatest Olympian who's put a countless hours and hard work getting to where he is today. He absolutely without a doubt deserves to called a legend.

I really want to see you in Brazil. Fingers crossed till 2016.

I certainly hope that he comes back for the next Olympic and this is not the end of Michael Phelps in Olympics. He's a great athlete and a great swimmer like him deserves more than just 22 medals (just saying 😃). So hope to see you in Brazil Phelps! You're amazing!

^^ this is his last olympics; he said so in an interview. I agree with his decision, that he should not come in the next olympics because there are going to be several young swimmers in the next olympics and he would not be able to beat them 😛 He has grown old, and he doesn't swim like he used 2.

But i LOVE him!!! 😳
